You could save more money by going with GSkill Trident Z, many members use it with no complaints.

Ignore what the description says about what platform it can be used on.

    G.SKILL TridentZ Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Intel X99 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16Q-32GTZKW - Newegg.com

    I have a couple questions.
I checked my memory usage in both Performance Monitor and Task Manager while playing a quite resource intensive piano program. I was using around 30% of my 16 GB's of RAM.
I think it also said I was using around 5 GB's, with 11 GB's left (that was split between a couple categories, I'll have to check).
that makes me think that maybe I really don't need any more RAM. it may be a waste of money for me.
    any comments about that?
    next question.
I am using the integrated graphics HD630. I do not have dedicated video card.
    I have been reading.
would anyone please advise me about this?
I have read that if if would get a dedicated GPU, it would be helpful, because it would be less work for my CPU (i7 7700k).
but I wonder if that would make my computer hotter, and loud.
right now, with my liquid cooling, it is darn near silent.
also, the picture on my monitor is absolutely wonderful. I like it the way it is just fine.
I just wonder about the pro's and cons of trying to improve stuff.
right now, the highest I see my CPU use go, is around 60%.
the vast majority of the time, it is between 0 and maybe in the 40's percent usage.
    any thoughts, most welcome.

    1. A new GPU won't alter your desktop wallpaper, or the look of your desktop in any way.
    2. A new GPU might be a little louder under high utilization, but under a normal workload, if you run your fan on Auto, it should be fairly quiet.
    3. A new GPU will offload some of the work from your CPU when it comes to rendering graphics.
    4. I don't know if a new GPU will help your piano program in any way. It sounds like you have a latency issue.
    5. 16 GB of RAM is more than enough for most people.

I have a question about increasing my RAM.
I have 16 GB. and was thinking about getting 16 GB more.
but, it won't be a matched set with the first 16 GB.
so, should I not get it?
I don't think I want to pull the 16 GB thats already in there out, and buy 32 more GB, so I would have a matched set.
but is that what I should do?
I know i am super late here but i am sure everyone told you get matching sets it would be foolish not to instability will follow

    awesome. thank you guys.
    Mediacrites,
my problem is really with just one keyboard piano program. some of the presets are super resource intensive.
I thought had strong enough specs with this build, that I would be able to use a super low latency setting.
I had the buffer size set to 96 samples. no good.
set it up to 128 samples. better.
solarstarshines do you have any thoughts about getting 2 16 Gb vs 4 8 GB sticks?
sygnus21 thank you again for replying.

It seems with the newer gen chipsets, running all four slots is needed for the full rated speed. I would read through these threads, and post the question there as Asus reps answer the questions

    thank you very much Dude.
    awesome.
this is gonna sound dumb. but I wonder anyway.
I have seen what looks to be the same RAM, cheaper depending on color.
logically, I would think it makes no difference.
do you have any thoughts about that?
it was like $40 cheaper for the white, instead of the black.

also, do you have any thoughts about my getting a dedicated graphics card? (to take some of the load off my CPU?)
also, what do you think about Ryzen?
