Take your time, read reviews. I am a new fan of Gskill, this is my first set and I love it. Also check the QVL list for your MB. That is the set I was originally going to get, but ordered the wrong set. My profile is 16-18-18-38-2t but I have it running at 15-17-17-1t @
3466 for benchmarks
Are you running 3200? I have 3466 ram and had it at 3600mhz on this 6850k
Trident Z baby !

I'm not getting any more RAM.
I checked my Page File Usage in HWiNFO64, while playing my piano programs (and really wailing away), and my Page File Usage was 0%.
that means I do not need any more RAM.
Okay, read that wrong. Gskill is really good though, my 3200 I have been able to OC up to 3600. The important thing is you can run what you need to, not everyone want to OC everything like me an some others here

roger that. thanks man.
hey I just updated my BIOS.
I did not know that I would have to redo the changes I made, after updating.
as in, I had to change XMP from disabled back to Profile #1 to get back to 3200 MHz, and I change the 1 Core Ration Limit back to 45 from Auto.

Yes, I just did the BIOS update too and had to redo settings. I always start fresh with a BIOS update anyway. I take screenshots of my settings to help remember what I set for each profile usually

excellent.
I think it is really cool that you overclock. I know next to nothing about it. but I have started reading.

If you want to test the limits off stability of your system, you just cannot be afraid to BSOD, then just drop back on the setting you changed a little. The BSOD is your friend here, as it protects your hardware from damage. Also there might be times where it cannot even boot into Windows and will ask if you want to go to BIOS or just use last known good settings. Nothing to be afraid of really.
awesome, man.
thank you very much.
this is very good to know.
I had no idea about that.
Dude, I updated my BIOS.
just wondering, should I update the chipset?
