Should 1080p medium max out the 1080 Ti?

No, it wont, your Ti can handle way more. Benchmarks are funny, just stick with extreme, 4k, and 8k superposition runs for your gpu. You have a very good gpu

Superposition 1080P extreme run at stock.

I do like watching that benchmark. Too bad those white superposition OSD numbers aren't showing up well in the video. Here's the score. 5865

Superposition 1080P Extreme with an overclock. Score 6167. Nice temps on these 1080 TI's.

Thanks guys. I actually did that for the two nephews who will get the EVGA FTW 1080. They look at this board and sent me a text that my 1080 score (4552) wasn't comparable to my 1080 TI score of 5865 as only the 1080 was overclocked. So there you go boys (nephews), that 6167 score is 1615 points higher than the 4552 score. Does that mean something other than the score is 35% higher/better? Also, the Strix will clock higher (core) than I set it for this benchmark.

The most important comparison for me was the GRW comparison essenbe did for me with the in game benchmark at stock clocks, FTW 1080 versus FTW 1080TI. The TI is 20%+ faster but both are beasts when it comes to gaming. The boys aren't complaining about getting the FTW 1080.

Shipping label came yesterday and I RMAed the FTW 1080. ETA arrival Montreal to California is Wednesday, August 16. So I guess another week to get the replacement back. I was offered and accepted EVGA's extended testing on the replacement. They said it wouldn't delay shipment of the replacement so maybe they are testing it now. Any idea what that extended testing involves? The nephews said "ya, some EVGA employee is going to take their FTW 1080 home and play with it for a week".

How about rephrasing the procedure for them. 'Would you like us to make sure you are getting a new card with no problems or would you rather take a chance of the card spending another 2 weeks in the back of a Fed Ex truck?'
