My question is who is waiting to see actual Vega benchmarks before they upgrade their GPU?

As all his friends move to TI, DudeTI has been very quiet or maybe patient about his plans. Who knows, maybe he will be DudeVega. depending on the results.

To the best of my knowledge, Linus saw one at CES2017 in January playing 1 game, Doom. That's a little different than 'having one' to do your own tests on. as Specialkone said, who is waiting for them. The better question is why isn't AMD giving anyone a reason to wait on Vega? Nvidia released the TI at the 1080 price point and dropped the 1080 price. The 1080 and the 1080 TI has been sucking all the money out of the market without a peep out of Vega. Why wouldn't they let some info out about Vega to at least slow down all the money going to Nvidia or even release a few engineering samples to reviewers? The first pre order date, EVGA had so much traffic their web site crashed. They pre ordered several thousand cards in about 15 minutes. They've done that twice at least. All the other manufacturers are doing the same. AMD's silence is really baffling.

    Exactly.

And I'm also not sitting around waiting for one having been burnt by AMD's R9 Fury fiasco

Regardless it's all vaporware until it releases with real performance numbers. Not hype and theory.

"On, an undisclosed name Vega GPU". Don't "actually" have a physical card in my hand, just an engineering chip. But hey, Doom's running great

OK, it closer than I thought. Will the performance Ryzen to the level?

The performance is all that really matters, if there is any money left in the market after Nvidia is through. I still can come up with only a couple of reasons why they don't give people a reason to wait for it. They said the release will be in the first half of this year, which is about 6 weeks away.

Well as you said, hopefully there's some money left for them to collect as NVidia is raking in the dough with the 1080's. Timing is everything so we'll see how this plays out.

In my mind there is only really one reason for their silence. It is not able to match Ti, forget the Titans. And if it cannot run with 1080's then they should just go back to the drawing board.
