Well said sygnus21For the record, I'm normally not one to pay 6, 7, 8 hundred dollars for a GPU, though I did pay nearly $600 for my current card. But, I do understand why some would pay that much for card (why I paid that much), especially if you're a serious gamer wanting the most out of them. There's nothing like running a beautifully graphics intensive game at max settings with butter smooth frames. This is where the men get separated from the boys where high performance is concerned; especially in GPU land. It's why I got what I got, and paid what I paid. In this arena, low end doesn't work.
And yes, when you buy one of these high-performance beasts, you'd better have to system to match. Most people who spend this type of money on a GPU already have the system to match, otherwise it's just throwing money away. We know this.
At the end of the day, not everyone is willing to pay for high end, but those willing shouldn't be questioned because "I wouldn't do it". As I said before, this is the performance section of tenforums. Here people talk about their high-end system and spend money on fancy cases, exotic cooling systems and, expensive GPU's, etc.... If you're not into that sort of thing, that's cool, but why are you here?
My two cents.
