    I would rather have cash in my pocket. 5 years from now, a 1060 and 1080ti will both suck. And I spent 1/3 the cash.

    I pre ordered a new card today and pparks1 is already saying it sucks. I haven't even got it yet and it sucks.

    I said in 5 years it will be as outdated as lesser cards. I have no qualms with high end game cards. I have gamer friends who live and die based on their cards. I just dont have near enough time to justify the costs.

    Me too. I wouldn't have said anything, except I was called out.

    I usually only poo-poo excessively flashy cases and over the top cooling setups.

    Eh, I think thats mostly it. I discuss merits of cpu's from time to time, but I don't repeatedly position against them. It's mostly cases and cooling.

    I think cpus can be like graphics cards. You pay a large premium for todays highest end, but in a number of years, that extra spent to "future proof" doesn't really pay off. It becomes outdated by the middle of the road.
