I noticed the Time Spy anomaly in another review. It sort of makes you wonder how the test is scored. I know when I went from my 780 Classified to the 980 Classified there was one test I just could not even come close to the score of the 780, even though the 980 was way faster. I finally researched and found out it was because the test heavily weighted cuda cores (I think). The 780 had more cuda cores than the 980. It would pay us benchmarkers to try to find out exactly what these tests measure I think.

I suspect @doorules knows though.

I don't pay any attention to how either are in gaming, too many variables. How they do in benchmarks is another story. Going to be interesting.

Quite obvious to me is I will have to read those 20 pages on Time Spy more than once. And I have a statistics degree!

Know I know why Realbench freezes on my system no matter the clock setting!!!! Be it overclocked or default settings:

Intel has confirmed that its Skylake processors suffer from a bug that can cause a system to freeze when performing complex workloads. Discovered by mathematicians at the Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search (GIMPS), the bug occurs when using the GIMPS Prime95 application to find Mersenne primes.
Update: We've been informed that the bug was reportedly discovered and tested by the the community at hardwareluxx.de before being passed onto GIMPS, which conducted further testing. Both groups passed their findings onto Intel.
"Intel has identified an issue that potentially affects the 6th Gen Intel Core family of products. This issue only occurs under certain complex workload conditions, like those that may be encountered when running applications like Prime95. In those cases, the processor may hang or cause unpredictable system behaviour."

Interesting Cliff, If I run Realbench with my Bclk Freq set over 100.25 it will crash...or fail ....but that is the only setting that makes my Realbench fail ....does not actually crash hardly at all....unless I have my Bclk set WAY too high. I am running the Asus Realbench app thou ...suppose to be the same as regular version. (We have same cpu)

I downloaded Prime95 v.28.10 build 1 a little bit ago, and now I'm running the Blend stress test, and my temps are good, and it hasn't even reached my 4.9 OC, it stays around 4.4(I'm set to high performance in power options)

I have only been running it about 20 minutes now, though.

Is there anything more recent about this? The article is dated Jan 11, of 2016! I would hope this issue would be resolved by now seeing it's 14 months later. Where's the confirmation this hasn't been done???

Your cooling setup is similar to mine. What fans are you not able to control to your liking? Your Corsair H110i GT has PWM rad fans, fully controllable. If you are talking Obsidian case fans, yes I would prefer PWM fans to the existing DC (3 pin) fans as well. Aren't your DC case fans controllable through your bios? For me, I have those 3 AF140L case fans controlled through the Asus bios. Even though they are DC fans, the bios will deliver between 7.5V to 12V, or a few hundred RPM up to their max of 1150-1200 RPM.

First screenshot below I had the case fans (1,3,4) running at low speeds. Recently decided to up that (through the bios) and have them set at 900-1000RPM on a curve to max out (1150RPM) under load (2nd shot).

I find case fans have more of an impact on GPU temps, especially if you are water cooling the CPU. Under my scenario, GPU doesn't go above 70C oced to 2101MHZ. With CPU at 4.8 (1.36VC) the 1200 fixed RPM on the rad fans delivered a highest temp of 71C on the CPU.

Of course, I have not yet adjusted voltage on the GPU. Not sure PWM fans would have much of an impact on that. I guess the extreme oc guys water block the GPU.
