One person called it Faildozer all over again i guess people aren't happy about this but yet when the FX line came out it didn't have all these issues it just was slow

Makes me think they got ahead of themselves again but yet when it comes to a budget PC they are hardly a Budget you can rack up some bucks on AMD too

I'll reserve judgement until it 'matures'. Wait for a few bios updates and people figure it out, then make a judgement. I think they went to market too quick. There are always 'growing pains' for any new chipset, been there done that. It just seems there are more than usual for this one.

Seen this Video and it is not that bad of a CPU but overclockablity is just dead

Maybe future updates might help it AMD is alright i used them for a long time but honestly im done and have no reason to be entertained by it maybe by the time i need a new build AMD will be a Option

Given the gaming performance and price, the i7-7700K / i7-6700K is the better buy over any of the 3 Ryzen chips as I stated here in The Real Numbers. Unless you "really" need a octo-core chip, intel is the cheaper way to go with their quad core i7's.

Things may change if/when gaming performance gets on par with Intel's quad-core processors, but until then, I can't see any but the die-hard AMD fans going for the Ryzen chips.

My two cents.

Yeah Solar, I agree with your assessment.....

As for overclocking these new processors I have seen a few that have actually been able to OC via the UEFI Bios and have it right there with the X models.......

For the average guy looking to build a new system for everyday use and gaming you can put together a great setup with for say even an I7-6600K on a Z170 board for a better price than going Ryzen with a new board......well, IMHO anyways.....

For me anyways, already running a 6700K on a Z170 board I cannot see moving to Ryzen as an upgrade based on my needs......

If I was running an older much older Intel or even a previous AMD processor I would have to consider Ryzen as a plausible upgrade.......

Now having said that I am seriously thinking of picking up a 1700 or a 1700X and one of the newer ASUS boards just to play with and test for myself and then most likely give it to one of my grand-kids......unless I find it to be "All That" and more........

I thought that was a good comparison by Techspot. My observations are that compared to where AMD was before, Ryzen was a big success and put them way ahead of their previous position. Compared to all of their hype and claims before release, Ryzen was a failure for gaming at least. Maybe future BIOS updates will improve performance some, I would guess it will.

The overclockability by most reviewers was surprisingly a big disappointment.

For a gamer building a gaming rig today, I don't know why they would pick a Ryzen over a cheaper 7700K. The 7700K beat all the Ryzen chips in almost every game tested. Yes, the Ryzen chips can play games well at every level. but, the cheaper 6700K and 7700K beat them in every single title. So, looking at that review, if I were building a gaming rig today, why would I chose a $500 1800X or a $400 1700X that gets beat by a $340 7700K on every game tested. Then if you consider the overclockability of the 7700K, it would be safe to assume you could beat it a whole lot worse. The 7700K can overclock like crazy. Cheaper, faster and better is an easy decision for me.

Maybe the answer would be different if you were looking at a production rig, I don't know. But for a gaming rig, I don't see a decision to be made. Maybe I'm missing something, but that's the way I see it, for right now at least.

Agreed Microcenter has 6700k at like $279.00 so i mean what would you do it's like the script has been flipped lol

I might also add that 1080's are priced at 1070 prices it may be worth getting another 1080 than a TI
