Well, it started, just got mail from a local computer store chain to pre-order Ryzen processors:

    1 RSD (Serbian Dinar) = 124Euro.

    So the top one (7 1800X) costs RSD 73 * 124 = €9052?

That seems rather expensive. Have I got a power of 10 wrong here?
No that's actually 73000 (Seventy three thousand Dinars) / 124 = 588 Euro. Still expensive though, almost a month of my pension. I'm waiting for R5 with 6 cores/12 threads.

Got confused there for a minute. RND 73000 = €588.

I was doing it reciprocal for some reason. And assuming RND 72,999 meant RND 73 (with 3 decimal places for millims instead of 2 decimals for centimes).

Time for my bed. I couldn't really afford €588 but it makes more sense than €9000 certainly.

Many from here are buying in Hungary because it's cheaper there, I got my FX 6350 from Hungary for savings of about 30 Euro. I would be interested if you have some offers from there.

I foresee this forcing Intel's hand in finally giving consumers an affordable 8-core processor at a reasonable price. Competition is a good thing and from that standpoint I'm hoping AMD succeeds with Ryzen. That said I'm still sticking with Intel.

Yea, Microcenter usually has good prices even for the US. I wanted to get my Skylake from them but in early January they were out of stock as they were more concerned with stocking Kaby Lake, so I ended up paying $342 rather than $299 from Microcenter. Now I could get the Skylake from Microcenter for $279. If I only had more patience....

Does that mean you'd be willing to dump your 6850K for a Ryzen?
