    Hi,
I always verify them after creating them
I ran out of patience yesterday but might try again tonight but 7 is reinstalled clean and I suppose I should of done that anyway with the drastic driver differences with the newer hardware.

Do you setup the Recovery Menu Boot option?

Sometimes even if you cannot boot into windows, if you crash the boot three times in a row, by pressing the power button again immediately after POST, you get to your recovery options menu(at least when using UEFI), you can then select Macrium recovery option, and then fix boot problems, BEFORE, closing Macrium: Fixing Windows boot problems - KnowledgeBase v7 - Macrium Reflect Knowledgebase - KnowledgeBase v7 - Macrium Reflect Knowledgebase

I pulled the trigger. I ordered a EVGA GTX 1070 to replace my 970.

I was tired of the 970 bottlenecking my system.

It's a vicious circle... when our time to upgrade comes around and we're looking at those shinny new CPU's, some here will be saying the same thing we're saying now about holding off :)
    It never ends.
You are correct, it never ends. And if you upgrade to the shiny CPU's today, they won't be the shiny CPU's in 6 months from now. And many of us, at least myself, won't have the funds to build today and then upgrade again in 6 months. My preference is to let a few generations go by, so that my upgrades not only increase my CPU power, but also my graphics power and add functionality to my mobo (like M2, or USB3, or USB C). I also tend to not "upgrade", I usually build 100% from scratch each time. I like having my existing PC stay as is, I can give that to another family member, etc.

It's not fair to call people morons if they want to upgrade. While I may not understand the drive to upgrade, I also know that I don't care for benchmarking aside from making sure that my hardware is working approximately as it should. This doesn't make them morons, it just makes them different from me. For those who love to benchmark, new hardware is always just around the corner. Keep chasing the dream. For others, buy and enjoy what you have for as long as it's relevant to you.

I still like my 8 year old desktop, and it's fast enough for most things, but I'm missing out on a ton of new features. More than anything, it will be fun to build.

So, the new Coolermaster HAF H500p case is now out. Watched quite a number of videos and read a bunch of people's reviews and many are pretty 'meh" about this case.

From everything I have read, the build quality sucks. It's cheap plastic, flimsy and use acryllic rather than glass. The top is very flexible and pretty much falls off in your hand when you touch it. There are gaps where the case comes together which is going to let in dust and such around the dust filters. The LED fans require headers on the mobo, there is no fan controller in the case. And the vertical CPU riser that they showed off doesn't come with the case. Stickers on the 200mm fans on the front are usually not straight, so it appears the fans are wobbling when they run.

So, while I was originally pretty excited by this case, I'm not 100% convinced it's worth $150 now.

Where are you reading those reviews?

And If you want glass and all metal, you'll need to up your budget.
