I usually win as i make more of the income and i pay for everything. Thats why i bitch about the money, because i know it comes solely out of my account. And i had to do a new furnace, new ac, new water heater, new roof, and all new floors this past 12 months.

There is no point in comparing a 8th Gen chip to a 7th gen chip, it`s like comparing apples to oranges :)

Intel Coreâ„¢ i7-8700K Processor (12M Cache, up to 4.70 GHz) Product Specifications

    Intel is really screwing us

Intel ends up screwing customers because AMD has brought back competition.

In this case, there isn't much different between kaby lake and coffee lake. Newer chip just clocks higher and has 2 more cores.

I suppose if you need 16 threads, then go with the 7820. Otherwise I'd look at pricing between the two and go there. The other factor would be motherboard - which has the better "tech"? And what of pricing for what you get?

Personally, I'd go with the motherboard that's more feature and future proof and let in then decide my Processor. That's me.
I agree with this! It all depends on what you need. Can you make use of Quad Channel memory vs Dual Channel (for most tasks it makes no difference), do you need support for 128GB memory vs 64GB only. Will having 12 vs 16 threads make any difference for you? Will you need more PCIe lanes directly from CPU? The 8700K has significantly lower TDP, which is great. Overall both CPUs are pretty similar in specs and pricing almost the same too.

There is no such thing as future proofing as Intel released two different platforms with two different feature sets there is no way to future proof unless you like chasing your tail like a dog

There is no difference really between the two and Intel just threw these out there because AMD socked them in the Balls

Like Jayztwocents said Intel would of brought this out fall next year but since AMD is gobbling up sales they rather jump up the time and throw it out there

I don't think they are realizing people just went broke on x299 and again with Coffee lake the least they could of done was take the Z270 and made it future coffe lake ready but greedy Intel had to throw a platform out there that still gets it a$$ handed to it by last gen so i mean really stop giving them your money lol

Oh yeah let's not forget what The Zen master of delid said they said more pens means new motherboard how come they didn't have a problem with putting 4cores on X299 but no one talks about that right ?

So your telling me Intel can do this with X299 but it's impossible for the Z270 when they knew Coffee Lake was in the Upgrade path lol Intel playing people for suckers and people need to speak up on that

Bottom line Intel didn't need the Z270 for Kabylake at all but they pushed it on us

Hahhah! X299, Z270 and Z370 --> same crap with different name. Well X299 supports 8 SATA ports while the other 2 only supports 6. Other than that, not much of a difference there. :)

Also i assume the new Z370 will not be backwards compatible either to Kabylake since it has the same socket but just a few extra pins
