    So just like I thought, not much reason to upgrade from 7700K > 8700k or R5 1600x > 1800x.

I'm looking forward to the next generation of Ryzen. I may upgrade then.

Also noticing pricing of Core i7-8700k seems to be $379 instead of $359.

That's at launch with questionable supply. I would be willing to bet that in a month or two it will be right at that $360.

Been pricing up a 8700K with a ASUS Z370-A Prime and 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB for around £720. Possable buyer for my 6700K ASUS Z170-A and 16GB RAM for £350. worth the cost of £370 to upgrade....

Sounds nice @worf105. That's not a bad deal at all.

Thanks Steve. Just watched the video you posted on the previous page, make me reconsider somewhat..... But for around £370 for 2 generation climb and upgrading my RAM to RGB still sounds good.

What made you reconsider? I thought it looked pretty good. 6 Cores/12 threads going 5 GHz is not too shabby in my book.

Some of the gaming results shown but like you said 6 cores / 12 threads and 5GHz with some RGB does look nice. Availability will be scarce here for a while but knowing me I will go with it. Cheers Steve

May even beat @solarstarshines Time Spy and Fire Strike scores

Ya that's for sure. Look at that i7 8700K in ROTTR NOT be able to produced a single FPS better than my I7 6700K at 1080P and produce only 2 FPS better at 1440P.

Intel Core i7 8700K processor review - Performance - Games: Rise of the Tomb Raider (2016)

With all the shiny new Time Spy scores coming out, the above is what I'll be thinking about. But if I was NEEDING an upgrade because of old/unreliable hardware (MB) I would be thinking of an I 7 8700K.

In this console port world we PC gamers live in, someone please wake me up when games start taking advantage of 6 cores/12 threads.
