As for desktop, I do require one because I'm a music collector who still collects CD's, (as well as vinyl), and prefer to rip music from CD's as opposed to downloading from the net. That's me.
. That makes sense to me. I too stayed on the physical wagon for a long time and ripped it how I wanted, in the format and bitrate that I wanted. I eventually found that I was mostly listening to music in the car, while running, and at low volumes at work...so I gave up on having complete control and accepted the quality that I found online. But I get why you would still do it yourself.

And I don't need any speeches about space savings and all that sort, I'm a collector, space is the price :)
Yeah, I have about 1200 CD's myself. Space is always an issue, be that physical space for the disks, or physical disks to hold all of the data, or cloud space to hold your entire library. If it's what you enjoy, so be it.

That's a nice setup. I don't have anything elaborate on my PC from an audio perspective. I have a Marantz HT receiver in my living room with a matched set of Polk speakers for my movies. In my basement, with my computer I have a Harmon Kardon receiver with some Polk RT800i speakers. For headphones, i use Grado SR-125's at work and Audio Technica ATH-M50's at home.

For fun, I volunteer at our church and do in ear monitor mixing for the band on a Digico SD7. We use Crown amps and L-Acoustics line arrays. We've started to standardize on 1964 ears.

While I enjoy music, I never developed the talent to play or write it. It's something I've dreamt about, especially mixing, but never took it to heart. You either have it or you don't.

As for home system, too much stuff to mention, but nothing earth shattering since it's all pre 2000. In fact I'm about to box a lot of it up except for my turntable, pre-amp and CD recorder so I can record albums to CDs. For "home theatre" I just use my Bose SoundTouch 300 and it's bass module and that's it.

I mainly use m y PC to listen to music, and it can be easily streamed to the Bose sound bar.

    Anyone using Windows Ink/SketchPad

Anyone using Windows ink with their notebook or touchscreen laptop using s stylus?

Some may remember I bought a Lenovo notebook about 3 months ago. I mentioned it came equipped with a storable stylus. Well though I played with the stylus for testing purposes to see if it worked I never really used it because or the Ink since I wasn't really into that sort of thing. Also the stylus is a bit small and prone to giving what one reviewer called hand cramp.

Anyway I've been wanting to try out Ink and the stylus writing since well, I have a machine capable of doing so. With that and to eliminate "hand cramp" I decided to get a "normal size" stylus in the Bamboo Ink....

Top is the small rechargeable Lenovo stylus. Bottom is the single AAA battery powered Bluetooth operated Bamboo stylus.

Anyway I was messing around with it and trying to get use to writing on my notebook in tablet form. Here I tried my hand at writing in Microsoft Word using SketchPad and the Bamboo Stylus....

Don't kill me; yeah, I don't have the greatest handwriting in the world, and some words are misspelled (too use to auto correct) but this is a minor test for now. Once I get use to things handwriting will improve along with spelling (minus auto correct) :)

Anyway I've not done any tests to see how well one stylus does against the other and haven't even explored all the features with writing with a stylus using Ink and all that fun stuff. That said, upon initial use with the Bamboo vs. the small Lenovo stylus, I did notice the Lenovo stylus seemed to have a heavier ink footprint than the Bamboo. Notice the last sentence starting with "However this paragraph..." It was written with the Lenovo, while the rest of the document was done with the Bamboo Stylus. That said, though the Bamboo felt more natural and comfortable, I felt better writing control with the Lenovo stylus; probably because of the smaller size. Regardless I can't say one is better than the other because I've not put either to any type of testing yet. I just got the bigger pen for comfortability vs. the small hand cramp Lenovo.

Thoughts? Questions? Suggestions? Anyone else using Ink?

Oh, BTW when writing in Word with a stylus the document saves as a .png file.

I currently don't have any Windows Ink compatible devices, but I do use a pen daily on my Samsung Note devices. Love what one can do with a pen.

There is a HUGE difference in pens. I bet your thicker lines are caused by a more sensitive pen than the one you purchased separately.

I will definitely talk more about Windows Inking once I can purchase a device here in Finland that I like, has the features I need and I think is worth it's price in the long run.

However I am still looking...(for 2 years now and there exist a few interesting model already, but I can not buy the correct configuration in Finland)

EDIT: Just to clarify, I am on a journey to switching from Android inking to more powerful Windows Inking.

I must admit that when I asked the question I didn't have Android in mind. Was strictly thinking Windows which is why I said Windows Ink.

New Intel Slides Reveal Product Roadmap up-to 2018
It starts with the 4 and 6-core Coffee lake gen of course with the Z370 chipset. The slides, who have been leaked by website gamersnexus, then reveal H370 Express, B360 Express, and the H310 Express. H370 might be interesting for us consumer pricing wise, it lakcs extreme tweaking options and SLI certification, but would be priced much better. Intel would launch corporate-ready Q370 and Q360 chipsets with enterprise-client features such as vPro, sometime in Q2-2018. Interesting is a mention of two-core procs as well.
Indicated is that in early-November 2017 Intel they could push Pentium and Celeron low-power SoCs based on the "Gemini Lake" platform, consisting of quad-core and dual-core processors, these would have a sub 10W TDP, listed units are Pentium J500S, Celeron J410S, and Celeron J400S.
Surfacing in the slides is also 240 GB and 480 GB sized Optane units. We're really not sure if that is a cache unit or a regular SSD based on Xpoint (we doubt it) after the failed introduction of Optane.
