The down clocking is probably my crap mainboard with only 6 phases/VRMs a single eight pin CPU power connecter.
Of course I'll know for sure when I upgrade to a new mainboard, PSU, and AIO cooler.

So, my Samsung 960 Evo 250GB is finally supposed to come this Monday, I downloaded all there was for it from Samsung site and got ready for it but.... Can I just restore MR backup of this windows to it ? It's UEFI with GPT.

Yep, but after you boot to it, you should run winsat formal from an admin command prompt, so Windows can make any adjustments, like letting it se it is an ssd by measuring the speed, so the proper command is run in Optimize Drives(trim instead of defrag).

Also you will want to make sure it is using the correct partitioning alignment:
    wmic partition get Name, StartingOffset
It will list the StartingOffset of all partitions, or the position in bytes where the position begins. Take those numbers and divide them by 4,096. If the result is a number without digits after the decimal mark, it means your partitions are aligned perfectly.

Yes you should be able to do that without issues.

Tnx. guys, my windows are now on 240 GB SATA SSD so everything is set for SSD. There's some driver (Samsung NVM Express Driver 2.2) I downloaded from Samsung so I guess I should install it before making final MR backup prior the transfer. Does latest Samsung Magician work correctly on latest Skippy ?

Can't answer you there Mike, but the only thing Magician is good for, really is just keeping the firmware updated, RAPID is just a RAM cache of sorts, and slows boot/shutdown times down some(not a whole lot, depending what else needs to be loaded in the systray, but a bit, as the files need to be read to RAM then). But that is the users choice as fare as I am concerned.
