    My 970 died. Black screen of death. Installed an old GT 610 and video came back. I can't afford a new card really dissapointed.

    Nope. It was completely stock. It did die gaming though.

    Got me Chieftec atm-1322s Archives : ATM-1322S and run into unexpected problems. As soon as it's connected, even without any disks inside it slows down all other disk operations and when OS disk is in it my BIOS/UEFI has real problems booting from it.
    I opened it up and there's no electronics to speak of, few capacitors and as far as I can see only for power side. Does anybody have anything like that and how is it behaving. My 3x3.5" backplane works fine.

    I bought it used for rather cheap. A friend is selling me a R9 390X for $80 that should hold me over. At least I'll have a decent card.

    Looks like you might have to buy your friend dinner or sumthing. The R9 390x compares really favorably with the 970 sc.
