    Sorry for the confusion.

I think it is a matter of semantics. I think Arlem was calling a console a gaming rig. Most of us consider a gaming rig as a computer built primarily for gaming. But, there are articles all over the internet about how smart phones and tablets are the leading to the demise of Desktop/Laptop computers.
Yeah, when I said gaming rigs, I meant consoles. I'm old fart, the only consoles I ever owned were a Colecovision and a Vectrex (both still work). You definitely can't create on a console.

Who are "THEY"? The same guys who predicted that there live green men on Mars?
"They" is the computer industry press. On some websites (re:ZDNet), it almost seems like a monthly thing. "Oh, its the 14th, I need to write this month's the PC/laptop/cell phone is dead article".

The PC/laptop can't die as long as there is a content creator, and places like Second Life have democratized content creation. Any ol' Joe with a modicum of curiosity and imagination can download several 100% free programs (Blender, GIMP, etc) and create something in Second Life.
There are plenty of gamers too, who like to build mods. It all requires a PC or laptop.

Hahhah, OK. I think this is the reason I don't read those articles. Have not for 20 years. Also most useful stuff released in the paper magazine versions is 3-6months old news. :)

Yes, when it comes to computer graphics, especially working with 3D assets, one can't get far on a mobile like device. Today laptops are powerful enough but most of them lack the real estate on the desktop to be useful as is. Same regarding MODs, which really are just a bunch of assets and some small code blocks. :)

I had some weird issues with my 970 tonight. All was working well last night then tonight it was stuttering just moving the mouse and I was only getting 15fps on a couple games. I restarted several times and no luck. I finally updated my driver and everything seems fixed.

I officially hate UEFI, suddenly problems with multiboot which were easily solved in classic BIOS.

I hate it too. UEFI was causing me issues at work trying to get a bootable CD to boot so I could clone my failing hard drive. I finally got it to boot and right after cloning my drive today the drive crashed. I was really pushing the limits there.

    Hi,
I actually like uefi bios but despise linux grub
It wasn't until I started using one of these was I completely happy with dual booting with linux or win-10 for that matter seeing it's about as annoying with it's fast start features I could easily live without that frustration :)
Take one os out put one os in so simple a caveman can do it lol

Fast start is actually what makes booting to cd's or flash media a real irritation not per say uefi bios.

I think I can see why gaming computers are on the rise. Gaming rigs stagnated for so long that they lost their edge to computers, and got so far behind that the best they can do is just achieve parity. Add to that the fact that more industrious users can even create their own content on a computer, something you can't do on a gaming rig.

They have been predicting the death of PC/laptop computing for over a decade. Now I'm seeing articles predicting the death of the cell phone. Thrrrppptbbbft to all the death watchers out there.
Yeah The Smartphone will not die anytime soon unless they Ban them lol

People live and die by it just like the VCR it barley stopped being made last year that is about 30 years of something that was supposed to be done in 5 years but i recall beta lasted about that long compared to VHS lol
