Well if the Asus' Formula owners are last then we Hero Alpha owners must be 2nd to last. :)
    MSI don't count .....Attachment 149613
I agree with that, well not sure about the MSI part.

Cliff; if your bios update actually had the hyper threading fix, I would think it would clearly be stated in the release notes. But yes and as you said and from what I read very limited scenarios where that bug would surface. But of course better to have the fix and I simply don't get why it takes so long. What? Intel came out with it in June? Perhaps the delay is because all the AIB bios gurus are working on all these new MBs due to new Intel processors and Threadripper.

Just checked my BIOS and found I was running F3 and F5 is out. Updated and my memory defaulted to 2400Mhz instead of 2133. Nice!

There's also a new BIOS for Asus Prime x370 pro, v0810. Still no AGESA 1.0.0.7 But "Improvements for RAM compatibility and system stability. Had to reset all OC but it's working fine although it's still not hitting right XMP so RAM is still under performing.

Does manually setting it run the RAM at right speed? Or is it not able to run above certain speeds.

It won't post with manual settings as XMP shows. XMP for this Kingston (KHX 3000) for 3000MHZ (2933) shows 15.17.17.17.39.65 but in reality can be set only Cl16, auto and manual. Tried to OC with some very loose settings to 3033 (which is next step in BIOS) but unstable.

I just received this so thought I would pass it over to the two nephews to drive them nuts

EVGA also sent me an email. I noticed that the serial number on the one they are sending me is a 17, while the other two I had were 16. So seems I'm getting a more recently built GPU, not something from when EVGA's 1080's were first made. Don't think any of the AIB's surpass EVGA's customer support.

The nephews were registering courses for CEGEP (college) and university today. Long process here. They started texting me (did you receive it yet?) at 9AM. Told them to stop and I'd talk to them this evening when they get home. They didn't stop so I ignored them.

Got the (171 serial #) FTW 1080 at 11:15AM. Went to my sister's and listened to her lecture me about spoiling her sons while I installed the 1080, Nvidia drivers and AB. They are on line games so have all the COD, BF4, BF1, CSGO, etc. No surprise the FTW 1080 is blowing through those games and (for now at least and hopefully for a long time) is running cool. Also hoping this post an EVGA mod made awhile back holds true.

So not doing what I asked which is rare, the nephews about an hour ago started texting me again from school. " I told you not to do that - sorry - did you get the 1080? I DO NOT HAVE the 1080 and I'll talk to you when you get home.

This advice is good for all kids in all situations, not just nephews and hardware.
