There is an update to OCCT: Home
Changelog : OCCT 4.5.1OCCT is a stability checking tool that was created back in 2003, and was regularly updated since. It enables you to fully test your computer's stability, using 4 different tests : CPU:OCCT and CPU:Linpack aimed at testing the CPU, GPU:3D for the GPU stability, and Power Supply, a combination of CPU:Linpack and GPU:3D to fully load your Power Supply.
Each test can be run indefinitly, or for a fixed amount of time. You can even include an idle period at the beginning or at the end of a test, to better see how your computer's temperature rise from an IDLE state to fully loaded, and the other way round.
OCCT also embeds a monitoring engine, giving you complete readings of the computers inner temperatures, voltages, and fan speed, and displays them both in graphs plotted in real-time and at the ne of a test. If you are worried about performance with the real-time graphs, don't : even if they are really light, just hiding the graph panel will stop them from refreshing.
OCCT even protects your computer from overheating or damage by including alarms you can customize for every sensor : once you go above (or below) the alarm value for a temperature, voltage, or fan speed, the test will stop to protect your computer.

- Added Ryzen and Skylake-X support
A great tool to check your overclock stability, that also saves the charts after stopping it, so you can see what you may need to adjust.
I'm hoping I don't have to replace my motherboard. Is this new chip going to use LGA 775 again????
That opinion is not just held by 15 year olds. Quite a number of adults are surprised that anybody would use anything other than an iPhone. However, these devices have certainly become the primary method of computing for many people. And if that doesn't work, they use an iPad.
Cool, looking forward to see how you like it. I always keep my eyes open for what I might build someday.
My wife just recently upgraded her cell phone and switched over to my Verizon plan from AT&T. She went from a Galaxy S5 to an iPhone 7+. And I do pay that bill. At the end of the day though, for pretty much the same price as we were playing for just service on AT&T, she is on my unlimited Verizon plan and paying about $36 a month for the 7+ with 128GB of storage.
Sounds like it worked out well for you then. Nice job. Mine was from a paid for iPhone 6 to a iPhone 7+.
Hi @sygnus21
got the following reply from Zotac:

Dear Andrew,
You can do your propose retrofit and see if it will improve the cooling. Failing that you can perhaps try the following product (link)
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ARCTIC-Acc...38.m2548.l4275
and
https://www.alza.co.uk/arctic-accele...SABEgJlOfD_BwE
(not tested, please check compatibility with supplier)
Do not forget to keep all the bits and refit in case of warranty claim.
PS the PCB is the same as Arctic storm however I have not found the cooler for sale on it’s own.
…
Kindest regards,

What would you suggest to reply with?
Asus is no better, response to my last enquiery about proper BIOS update with AGESA 1.0.0.7 for my MB and problems with XMP:
Dear
I must inform you that we are only the technical support department and we do not handle development issues. The development department is in Taiwan and we do not have direct contact with them or information regarding BIOS updates.
We can only offer you troubleshooting steps if you have an issue with the current released software or drivers.
Unfortunately we cannot offer you more information about future BIOS updates or beta updates. Any information regarding this will be announced through the proper mass-media channels.
Best Regards,
Allen

Rereading your original email to Zotac, I see your tone was perfect. You didn't challenge them on VRM heat. If you did you likely would have simply got a response that it's within spec. Instead your tone was concern about the VRM temps and asking for options to run the VRM cooler.
You did get a bit better response than a polite "stick it" but not much. They mention your proposed retrofit (thermal pads), an artic accelero (from the GTX 660 days) and a third option they aren't even sure would fit. And then they tell you for warranty purpose if ever required make sure you set back to defaults. Terrific!
You gave Zotac the opportunity to act like EVGA and they declined. My guess is you wouldn't get much further with them. Zotac does keep the GPU cool but if VRM/mosfets blew you would lose everything in an rma, including that unique Nvidia chip that is Nessie.
Personally I wouldn't consider anything other than a thermal pad mod, easy to undo for warranty if you ever have to. But I'd be writing to "Ask GN" to see what an expert like Steve Burke says about those Zotac suggestions and to ask him how a proper thermal pad mod for Nessie would work.
