    I can only hope these 8th gen CPU's fit 1151 sockets. Somehow I doubt that though

    and will hopefully support existing motherboards through BIOS updates, even though Intel plans a new 300-series chipset to go with these chips.

    Yep would love that too. :)

    AMD is very competitive at the moment. I am far less excited about 8th gen Intel and i9 than I am about the Threadripper. I am pretty sure AMD still has a lot hidden in it's sleeves to be revealed later. They have been really innovative lately. Intel has not come up with much for many years...mostly just optimized the designs for better TDP vs performance.
