New version of EVGA XOC (6.1.8) is out. A total nightmare for me. First Kaspersky is reporting it as malware. Disabled it and then ran 6.1.8 as admin. It installed. Oh boy, we finally have a new precision X server version 6.18 instead of the 6.09 server with every other version.

Nothing but trouble with the new server version. Tried to set the OSD to the right side, which is now in XOC instead of the server software. Nothing changed. Set it back to 0. Did a PC reboot and Windows is giving me an error message that it has to close Precision x Server. After reboot the server software was not running. Tried to launch it manually as admin (I'm the only user) and I get a message you may not have authority to run.

Back to 6.1.6 with the 6.09 server and everything is fine. I've had it with all the constant EVGA Precision XOC software issues. The "old" issues* we keep reporting don't get fixed and now 6.1.8 won't even run. And I need XOC for LED. Patience is completely gone with an AIB who can't even figure out how to code their own software. My Volta GPU will NOT be EVGA.*

I just downloaded the same version this morning, my Norton's removed it, and quarantined it. So I had to tell Norton to release it back.....not that big a deal. I am now running it, had to go thru a couple screens during the install, updating fans. Twice.... I grabbed the version without the server .....had to make a couple changes in my settings, and its running ok right now for me. List of fixes below...

Mike, why do you insist on running buggy software.
    Just for the bling?(LED's)

I got rid of that Corsair Link already, and XOC after trying it 2 day's and went to the beta version of Afterburner(working well now).

Stability and correct data are just too important to me

Guess you didn't read my entire post Cliff, I installed XOC and it runs FINE on my system, just because it does not on everyone's is not my fault. If it was giving me problems, I would remove it. My system is different from yours also. Biggest difference being our MB's .....
As far as Corsair Link goes, I use it to control my Water pump, and fan.....You don't HAVE any water cooling installed, unless I missed something Cliff.....the rest of my fans are controlled by my ASUS Motherboard Cliff ....

Oh I read it Mike, but having to jump through hoops, isn't very promising. I have uninstalled for less:)
I just don't have the patience for such things.

As for the pump, can't you use something else?
I'm thinking about upgrading a few things on my current system, like the mainboard, and when I do, I'll decapitate my CPU, and maybe use an AIO for it and my 1080.
but I'm also thinking of getting a hardware fan controller, for overriding BIOS curve when I want/need.

This is the company I can order parts from here in Germany, with out credit cards or using PayPal, I can just do it through my bank directly.
    Mainboards, Sockel 1151 (Intel) kaufen | conrad.de
And they are great I was told when it comes to DOA>RMA.

    I don't know.
Some one at work told me about using Conrad, because I don't want to do online financial transactions.
I can then just do money transfer at the bank.

Guess I missed something again....what hoops did I jump thru on my XOC ?? All I did was install it over my existing version, made a couple changes in setup, rebooted, done, it works FINE on this system. :)

I am having no problems with running Corsair Link the way I am now Cliff. My rig runs at 4.9 all the time, temps are cool. Unless I play with some benchmarking apps ...:) Then it rarely goes over the 60 C (CPU) Use XOC for overclocking my GPU, no problems.
We don't have the same MB, GPU, CPU and maybe even my memory is not the same as yours. I've oc'd all 3 ....no issues. :)
One more thing Cliff, I am Retired, and have lots of time to play. :)

IF a piece of software gives me a problem, and I can't fix it to my liking, it IS removed.

Who am I? Yes, many ask, not always in a nice way. I would say 75% gamer and 25% enthusiast. And currently, I'm a 1080P gamer and still enjoying it.

So, that I9 7900X which the enthusiast in me would like to have is $1,340 CDN dollars. The Asus Prime Deluxe X299 MB (ya, the good one) is $660 CDN.

A look at ROTTR at 1080P with a GTX 1080, shows 2 FPS more with the I9 7900X CPU compared to my I7 6700K.

    Attachment 140240

Intel Core i9 7900X processor review - Performance - dGPU GeForce GTX 1080 - DX12: Rise of the Tomb Raider (2016)

    Let's do the math.

    ($1,340+$660)/2 = $1,000.

My enthusiast side just told my gaming side that it would only cost $1,000 EACH for those 2 additional FPS in ROTTR that the I9 7900X setup would give me. My gaming side is . My enthusiast side is screaming Timespy, Firestrike, Superposition!. My gaming side is still .

Now if I gave my entire current build to my nephews the logic for the I9 7900K build just might work. :)
I win my 6850k at the top of the list lol the performance is almost the same across the board
