Yes, they never supported overclocking. Yet they sold unlocked CPUs for a premium when there is only one purpose for an unlocked CPU and also sold insurance where they would replace them if you did overclock and fry it, but they never supported it. I think that is somewhat like the motherboard manufacturers who don't support overclocking but all provide the auto overclocking software with their boards. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like they think we're stupid.
They're never mad about overclocking when their products break world records lmao

No disagreements with you there. I don't think they think we're stupid, but simply took advantage of consumers wanting more than they were willing to pay for. Overclocking gives us a sense of more for the buck. Intel, and others, simply takes advantage of that false hope, while also denying responsibility.

Nowhere does it say in any official Intel literature that an i7-7700K is guaranteed to hit 5Gig, it says 4.2, turbo 4.5, yet we all expect to hit 5gig when we buy one. Intel knows this, thus why the continued to push K processors, while at the same time insuring no official documents states anything past 4.2Gig (4.5 turbo).

Aren't "K"s faster than non-K out of the gate ?

According to the spec sheet, yeah. Actually didn't think about that aspect. Good question/point.

So Nvidia actually got around to making some of those Founders Edition-style USB drives. Unfortunately, the only way you can get them is by winning them.

Lastly, we have an exclusive giveaway happening through GeForce Experience. Remember the GeForce GTX G-Assist we “announced” back in April? We’ve made real, working, 64GB GeForce GTX USB Drives, and we’re giving away 1,080 of them to GeForce Experience members who have logged in and opted in to the NVIDIA newsletter by June 23rd. This is one of the only ways to get these extremely rare, limited edition GeForce GTX USB drives.

Well, I went ahead and did it. Couldn't wait for Microsoft so I purchased a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga X1 (Gen 2) with a 14-inch OLED display. Configuration...

    ● Intel Core i7-7600U Processor (4MB Cache, up to 3.90GHz)
    ● Windows 10 Pro 64
    ● 14.0 WQHD (2560 x 1440) OLED Touch
    ● 16GB LPDDR3 1866
    ● Intel HD Graphics 620
    ● 1 TB Solid State Drive PCIe-NVMe (supposed to be a Samsung 961 drive)
    ● ThinkPad Backlit Keyboard
    ● Integrated Fingerprint Reader
    ● ThinkPad Pen Pro 6.5mm BK
    ● Intel Dual Band Wireless AC(2x2) 8265, Bluetooth Version 4.1, vPro

Also has two Thunderbolt Type C, and 3 USB 3.0 connections, plus an HDMI connection. Unfortunately, this is a custom build taking the slow boat from China, so the expected delivery date is around the end of June. I knew this going in so

BTW the SSD drive is supposed to be a Samsung 961 NVMe drive.

LOL - I better, considering the cost and waiting period. Shoot, it better be the greatest laptop ever. Well, maybe that's a bit much, but still...

seriously though, I can't wait to get it. Been wanting a performance touch screen laptop for awhile now. It just makes things so easy when out and about or traveling. Even passed up on some needed (well wanted) photo gear just to get this.

Anyway will post my thoughts on it when I get it.

    Peace

I look forward to it. But I seriously hope it serves you well. I know you have been waiting on the Surface Pro for quite a while. The specs on this one look to be excellent. Hopefully it will be better than the Surface Pro.
