specialkone, CL will control your PSU fan if you have a Corsair i series PSU. I have a Corsair AX1200i PSU, that I am not using. The fan on it does not turn at all unless you install CL and set it to spin up. It will start up by itself, if it gets hot enough. I just am a believer in the idea of not letting it get hot to begin with.

My PC's sit in my basement where it stays about 65F (18.3C)all year round. Heat has always been easy for me to deal with.

That's very interesting. So CL will control that Corsair power supply fan. Quite ironic that CL doesn't control the three Corsair AF140L case fans in this Obsidian 750D case. All it does is report them and their RPM, TWICE. Asus MB to the rescue as that's where I control (and prefer to) the case fans.

I just set my fan curves(more aggressive as temps get higher) in the BIOS.
The two lower points for nice and quiet, and the second two points at a steep curve for intensive use:

    Temperature Procent Speed
    20°C 20%
    40°C 50%
    60°C 80%
    70°C 100%
This is for my CPU, rear exhaust, and the three at the top. three bottom intake are hooked up directly to my PSU, and max at only 1000 rpm, and are totally silent(let that air flow).

I used to use the MSI Command Center to do the controlling, but since the Creators Update it was buggy as hell(changing fan settings on it's own, and the portion to look at RAM info/change SPD settings didn't work any more) so I uninstalled the crap, and now just use BIOS, and let it control everything. Just forget 3rd party crap, and set it & forget it, it works well for me, when benching, my fans ramp up, and without anya extra background program using memory or CPU inside of Windows.

I can open AIDA64 and check things though, if need be.

Not using our CL will not allow us to control our led light, on CL plus the control of the water pump rpm's . There might be a way in our bios to control the water pump and fan......but nothing for the led lighting. CL don't use that much memory anyhow.....at least on my rig. I also only start it up manually. I like being able to change my colors on my Cooler. :)

As far as the Creative Update....I'll leave my opinion on that subject to myself ....for now.

Yes OldMike. I think your situation is exactly like mine and I don't think there is anything "wrong" with your bios. I also think CL is controlling your rad fans, not the bios. For me, that's fine. If I have CL controlling a fan I don't want bios also trying to control it. You can of course play with rad fan settings in CL. Fixed rpm/percent to limit noise. I know some are controlling rad fans on a curve with water pump temp which doesn't make the fans run up and down like CPU temp does. Not sure but doubt CL is displaying your power supply fan, at least it doesn't for me. More likely yet another phantom fan.

What I don't get is why Worf isn't having the duplicate fan issue
I was having Duplicate fan issues:

I have this same blip. Easy fix was to close it down and then open it up again and all ok. Looks as if it get to excited when first loading with Windows loading samsung magician. Not had this issue with new version that oldmike posted and even found my missing rear AF140 fan.
I have Corsair Link controling the whole water cooling setup (LED, Pump & Rad Fans) and use Asus Fan control to control all other fans in system.

The one major thing I love about my board is the Hybrid fan headers allowing you to use any fan - PWM or voltages, 3 or 4 pin. Each individual header can be configured to run a specific fan curve for that header through either the BIOS or Gigabyte's SIV software. However I can't use SIV since I don't have Gigabyte's APP Center installed. Not a fan of it.

Anyway, I still use Corsair Link to control my H115i cooler since I have the radiator fans coming off the cooler itself, and not the board. In this instance CL controls both fan speed and pump speed.

It all works pretty well here, no issues.
