The announcing Volta next quarter is only a rumor, and an unlikely one in my opinion. If they were to announce it, that would probably be for the industrial versions. It would be 6 months before they got mainstream out to the street. 6 months is about the best you can expect in any case. By then there is always something bigger, better or faster coming out. It always happens.
I don't think anyone is going to run out and get Volta right away unless they still have a 980 or something

The FTW3's started shipping Friday. The, or at least some of the, reviewers already have them. Besides, this has gone much better than the 1080 release did. And no, they are not using your money. They are not charging your CC until it ships.
I think the retailers charge you when ordered, at least I can confirm the CDN ones did with the 1080 release. Ordered the card, appeared on my CC next day, had to pay it in 4 weeks and the card arrived in 7 weeks.

I think it's a little more painful for international buyers. Even buying direct from EVGA is a role of the dice, not because of them. EVGA sells in U.S. dollars. Big gamble what the greedy bank/CC company is going to charge on the exchange. And then with some of the shippers, you risk a "border tax" when delivered. Went with the retailer as I knew at least what the price would be.

Indeed the delivery scenario has been well explained by EVGA with the TI's. And yes likely learned something (as all AIB's did) from the 1080 release.

Still beyond my comprehension is the slowness of the third party performance reviews. If cards were ready for shipping on the 28th I honestly figured reviews would be out last weekend. Instead we get a Gamers Nexus tear down video? What or who is causing the delay? If I were EVGA, granting cards to reviewers would have required a 36 hour turnaround on the review, especially given they are about last out of the gate.

Of course my bewilderment is somewhat theoretical as I'm hoping this 1080 continues to power through 1080P 120HZ games at least until Volta TI arrives, or something better. :)

My personal opinion, and nothing more, is when the TI was announced they said it was faster than the Titan. That is if you consider 3 FPS on some games faster. I don't. Then Nvidia pulled a fast one. They changed the specs on the Titans, unannounced. I'm thinking some of the parts the AIBs thought they were going to get, Nvidia kept to upgrade the Titan. I have nothing to base that on, just a WAG. But, it does seem that is about the same time the game changed for several of the AIBs. You also have to remember that EVGA is a relatively small company compared to some other AIBs like Asus, MSI and Gigabyte. I would suspect that figures into the equation somewhere.

I feel if you make people wait to long what was the point EVGA really looks bad because you have people who have done reviews on everything under the sun except EVGA

I'm sure some people already have opted for a refund and moved on to another Brand this situation with these guys make me want to stay far away and keep getting my cards from Gigabyte on time like they're supposed to be
As Steve said, they can't charge your card until an item ships, so what refund are people looking to get? If people feel the wait is too long, simply cancel the order and go elsewhere. No harm no foul.

Steve no one is taking shots i honestly have no issue with them i am just saying if people have not got one it's a shame
Again, as pointed out. People knew the deal going in. People tend to wait for the item they want, not rush into something they don't want. What's wrong with that?

On the AMD side of things when a new card hits, I wait for Sapphire's brand because I like their styling. That even though other manufacturers may have already released their cards, I'll wait for Sapphire's release.

Just because the board design is the same doesn't mean the cooling and others are. Some companies simply take longer for R&D to insure they aren't rushing out an inferior product. There's a reason why companies like Sapphire and EVGA has the following it does. And it has nothing to do with rushed products.

    My two cents.

    You could be right essenbe.

Well that Bjorn3d review is a bit lacking. NO BF1 numbers, no Time Spy numbers (maybe XOC OSD crashed it ) and the Firestrike stock number of 20289 is the overall number. They aren't even showing the graphic score number?????

Let's see. They are using an I7 6700K at stock, like MOI. My Firestrike score of 19329 is the GPU booted to run at 2101MHZ and the CPU at 4.8. I just ran a lazy stock run, even with optimal/balanced power. Got 17.8 overall Firestrike. So that would mean a pure change of FTW 1080 to FTW 3 1080TI bumps Firestrike up some 2489 points. Not bad.

Not sure if it would take on Worf's Zotac . Can't say as we can't see FTW3 graphic numbers and Guru3D uses a different CPU.

Yes, I thought it was a very complimentary review of the FTW3. It had a lot of wonderful things to say about the technology and the workmanship of the card. And it's performance was backed up by absolutely nothing. I am also sincerely hoping that guy knows absolutely nothing about overclocking. Otherwise there are going to be a bunch of very angry customers. Dude overclocks his cell phone more than that.

You noticed that did you? Me too. With this new cooling solution these EVGA TI cards run 15 degrees C cooler than founders edition. He has the fans ramped up to 100%. He gets an OC core clock of 2075MHZ????????

Some expert here will have to explain that one to me. Of course I haven't really looked hard at the 1080TI oc ability compared to the 1080. Is there not much left in the tank after the bump to the TI version?

He says this after his OC adventure:

"So what was the max clock we got, we think you’ll be surprised"

He means that is a good way??
