My monitor driver was switched recently to "Zowie". As I was about to blame Windows Updates I went over to the BenQ website and sure enough the driver for my monitor had been updated to a Zowie driver. Guess I'm Zowie too.

Worf, you are moving quickly on the monitor selection which I understand as you want it for "TI Time". I know nothing about the other monitors mentioned but will just say in your shoes I would go with what I know and you know because you have one as well. BenQ is typically a safe choice. Their reputation is quality with a focus on gamers and related performance.

Thanks for your reply. I am watching reviews at the moment. The zowie is as it stands at the moment the choice I'll go for.

The ones I've been looking at are made by Asus ....and most of them are not cheap.

Yes, Worf, do your homework. BTW, that model you are looking at is also free sync, right, but of course the monitor can still be used with Nvidia.

Now that's pretty brutal. They are basically saying why is there a 144HZ 1440P freesync monitor when a single AMD GPU can't deliver those frame rates at 1440P.

Or earlier, if you believe the rumors. There are a lot of rumors about what Nvidia is fixing to do. I may just "keep my powder dry" until they figure it out. Well, they have figured it out. They just haven't told us yet.

I'm of the adage that if you wait for the latest tech you'll never buy any tech.

I mean I get it, I'm in that boat now waiting to see if Microsoft is going to release a new Surface Book (Pro 2). But on the other hand I'm not going to wait out the latest GPU or CPU because as soon as one is released another is on its heels.

    That's me :)

Honestly a lot of stuff that gets replaced is still good and performs perfectly well; especially in gaming. It's the "benchmarking" tools that says otherwise and is the major cause of "upgrading".

How many 1080TI's will Unigine's Superposition sell? I mean when I look at my paltry numbers here, I'm like geesh, I need a new card! But when I game, I'm like, nah... I'm good.

That's the way I see it
