I had the same thing with my Z68 board. I had to order 4 before I got one that worked. Thank goodness for Amazon.

The only real reason to switch to Kaby Lake is Optane. It's just a waste of money to upgrade from Skylake to Kaby Lake if you're not gonna use the new features of the newer ones.
I can use Kabylake because of the 4k feature but that is about it

I read a little on Kaby Lake on OCN. A lot of those guys who had owned both said Kaby Lake had a higher overclocking ability, if that's important to anyone. I wouldn't know. I've never owned either. (as with everything in life, that's subject to change any time)

Biggest advantage seems to be very high clocks at lower Vc, sometimes much lower Vc. But clock for clock there doesn't seem to me much of an advantage to Kaby from what I have seen.

And you can run much higher frequency ram it would seem on average. I think the new asus 270 mobo supports up to 4133 ram.

Pretty much what I read, Sir.

Man, you guys have some pretty bad luck. I've never ordered either a mobo or a HDD that was every dead on arrival. But I seem to read about that happening a lot to people.

Are you certain that you don't possibly have a problem with the power supply or the electrical going to your box that is causing damage to these parts?
