They stayed up for pre order for a pretty good while tonight. The first time there were so many people after it, the site crashed twice. They sold out in about 10 minutes.

If you do Twitter, watch TeamEVGA. They usually announce it there when they go up for pre sale.

It's not a Big Deal they don't even ship till the end of the month which is why i'd rather get one on the fly in a few days

Just saw the 1080 ti's showing up on NewEgg. $800 is just crazy. My most expensive card ever was $350. It would be cool to play with one, but man, thats just too much $$'s for me.

Edit: for clarity, $350 is the nicest card I have ever bought for myself. Not saying that my card is the best, better, or comparable to any higher end card. Gamers aren't crazy for buying high end cards. I just get sticker shock when I see such a high price. I mean no disrespect to anybody.

And to think that I was crying in my scotch for paying 300 bucks for a Matrox card way back when. This one is just about double the price for my system. At that time it was most expensive card and 1/4 of full system expense.

Never let a moment pass by without commenting about someone wanting performance parts do we? With you everything is "just too much $$'s for me" when it comes to others wanting more than just the basic conservative parts for their system. Yes, the card is expensive. So what? it's not your money

Anyway there's always a price premium when new performance GPU's hit due to supply shortages. However once the dust settles, the prices should lower or at least stabilize. That said, I just on B&H they have the 1080 TI Founders Edition for $700 bucks (pre-order), which would be about right for a card of this ilk.

$699 was the MSRP for the FE.

Not sure I get your meaning here Steve. $699.99 (700) Is what I linked to on B&H for the FE. Didn't think that was a discount price.

I think you take my comments always as an attack. And it seems you love to call me out on it every time.

I didn't attack anybody for buying the card. I am just taken aback by the price. And I even said I would like to have one to play with, sadly its just more than I would like to spend, or have spent.

I don't only buy budget conservative parts. I bought my first SSD 8 years ago. It was about $350 for 80gb. I always pay more for modular power supplies. I did a nice Dell Ultrasharp 24" IPS monitor for my sons build when I could have spent a fraction of that on a cheapo 24" TN panel.

Some will see that card and say, wonder how much power it takes, or wonder what the benchmarks will be. Me, I might say, wow that is really expensive. Nothing bad meant by it.

Yes, I understand. I have to like vicariously through those who are willing to buy.

For the record, I'm normally not one to pay 6, 7, 8 hundred dollars for a GPU, though I did pay nearly $600 for my current card. But, I do understand why some would pay that much for card (why I paid that much), especially if you're a serious gamer wanting the most out of them. There's nothing like running a beautifully graphics intensive game at max settings with butter smooth frames. This is where the men get separated from the boys where high performance is concerned; especially in GPU land. It's why I got what I got, and paid what I paid. In this arena, low end doesn't work.

And yes, when you buy one of these high-performance beasts, you'd better have to system to match. Most people who spend this type of money on a GPU already have the system to match, otherwise it's just throwing money away. We know this.

At the end of the day, not everyone is willing to pay for high end, but those willing shouldn't be questioned because "I wouldn't do it". As I said before, this is the performance section of tenforums. Here people talk about their high-end system and spend money on fancy cases, exotic cooling systems and, expensive GPU's, etc.... If you're not into that sort of thing, that's cool, but why are you here?

    My two cents.
