Yes, generally US prices are EU prices in EURO without VAT, and that numeric value converted directly to Dollars.

Example: A device cost 500€ in Finland. We remove 24% VAT we get 403€. Swap the sign from € to $ ands we get $403. There we have the US price ($403 vs 500€) compared to Finnish prices. :)

Well, in US and Canada prices are always shown without taxes because they vary from state to state and province to province. Here, taxes on computers/parts used to be 8% but now are same as for everything else, 20%. On the shelf and online they do contain taxes too. So it's WYSIWYG. Prices in actual stores are about 10 - 20% higher than those in online stores. Still very high for actual standard here. An average citizen would have to work 2 weeks for this SSD.

Is that like we can get 5 Gb/S with USB 3.0? Plus, until they make drives that can read and write that fast, it won't help much.

There was a big hype about USB (and Firewire) in early '90s but took 10 years for USB devices to proliferate. After that it moved up pretty fast. Best move was to C plug and 3.1 (second gen). Took 20 years just to change the plug.

I an very tired of Corsair and their software issues. Look at this from the Corsair forum. Corsair's own software (Link 4.8 versions) conflict with Corsair's other software CUE, which I have to control keyboard/mouse.

Discuss Link v4.8.2.1 here - The Corsair User Forums

We finally have a Corsair employee posting on the forum. His comments confirm something I, the "Mike's" on this forum and Slippery have known for a long time. Corsair software engineers have no clue what they are doing, especially when it comes to Asus MBs. Notice his question/cry for help "hey are you guys running Asus software". No I am not running AI Suite 3 and please stop blaming Asus.

I have given up and gone back to Link 4.5.0.55. At least with this my 4 phantom fans are gone and in this version Corsair can properly count cores as 1 to 4 instead of 2 to 5.

I can max that speed on my USB 3.0 ports using UASP. Max SSD speed is ~550MB/s but on USB3.0 using UASP I get 480-500MB/s. Without UASP I get 200-250MB/s speeds. So yeah, it is possible. :)

Then there is also external Video Cards, Audio processors and other devices where even fastest ThunderBolt is limiting still. :)
