Interesting response from Futuremark. I wonder why they didn't mention that futuremark sysinfo is installed when you install their benchmarks and as near as I can tell on my machines at least is not updated EVER.
I have never gotten that error before with any version of A/B or RTSS. Then looked for the latest version of sysinfo which is 5.1.620.0 and installed and wala no error.

This may not be your problem, especially if you aren't running 3dMark from steam. But, you might take a look in control panel and see what version of futuremark sysinfo you have. YMMV
Slippery; my 3DMark from Steam does update. It has in the past updated both sysinfo and GUI. Of course I have the advanced version which I paid $5 for during a sale. But sysinfo version is the first thing I always check. It's been running with the latest version.

Also tried the standalone version (non Steam). Same results. I'm using AB 4.40 beta 12 with Rivatuner 7.0.0 beta 26, not the final official version as I want OSD working in Vulcan, UWP and Uplay games. In addition to Corsair Link I have CUE installed which controls lights of keyboard and mouse and does significant polling on the mouse. Don't know if the non beta versions of AB/RTSS would make a difference but I have no intention of dropping AB beta, Corsair Link or CUE just so Futuremark can give a valid result. But Futuremark pointed to RTSS and the part I noted was the incompatibility doesn't occur on all systems and they haven't figured out the pattern. Interesting that they point to the .DLL's in CPU Z/GPUZ which they have no control over.

Bottom line for me is they acknowledged the issue with some configurations. But I'll dump Time Spy and Firestrike before AB/RTSS beta any day.

This sounds fair enough to me even if they didn't explain it so well.
That is exactly what I was thinking. Couldn't figure out why the issue was so random. Polling the same hardware bits at the same time which causes Systeminfo to crash at least sounds logical.

That's interesting too. As it happens, I am running Corsair Link, HWINFO64 and MSI A/B 4.3/7. in the background all the time. No Problems, no crashes.
I guess it is their prevarication "..on some systems it might..." that says it. It happens but they don't know why.

If it is OK for you leave it. You just have the overhead of running it which is probably minimal - a snapshot every second or 100 times a second or whatever. In any case it is trivial.

I bought the same advanced version which I paid $5 for deal you did. So now I'm researching why I had an old systeminfo version which did not update. It worked fine despite that.

Yeah, but you stated Control Panel (wrong location). It should have said "Programs and Features" (correct location). Thus my question

    Anyway I got it. Thanks.

Only thing I can think of is check your Steam settings.

Yes they show the version number of Futuremark SystemInfo in Windows Programs and Features:

nope not in steam settings. I think I found the answer. I had that older version of system info installed from the "can you run it" file on the site by the same name. Apparently steam couldn't update that. No other version from any other place was ever on this machine. But, the new version is in place now, so I'll find out about it getting updated next time and tackle it then if necessary. Enough of my "red herrings" lol and back to why "some systems get that 3dmark error. Not buying their answer.
