Not much use at all. Their are no after market coolers for the 1080 Ti Amp Extreme that I can find.
Given that I would stop "babying" the GPU if you were at least until the warranty expires. If it breaks, you can return it.

That problem is the exact same VRM heat issue that exists on the EVGA FTW 1080 ACX GPU. Have you thought about installing thermal pads? If you look at Steve Burke's review of the Zotac 1080 TI, the thermal pads do make a difference. And according to him, he didn't have the "right" pads or could have used better ones.

I also run two case fans, one rear Corsair ML 140 Pro fan, and one front 230mm stock case fan (Cooler Master HAX F). I've got these fans running off my motherboard's fan headers. For these, I've setup individual power curves as my Gigabyte Z270 Gaming 8 board allows this for each header.

Here I've go the Corsair fan tamed to 1000 RPM, until the case hits 70C, (which it wont), and my front Cooler Master fan at 400 until the case hit's 55C. Since I don't OC these work very well for me, and keeps the fans nice and quiet, even when gaming. The only fans I hear ramp up are the GPU fans when gaming.

Anyway I too like to keep things quiet since I've got a nice audiophile system hooked to my PC - I run a Teac USB DAC, which pushes my Audioengine A5+ powered speakers it's sub.

Except for gaming, my system is very quiet, you don't even hear it when powered on. Even my PS fan doesn't run until needed. Same with the GPU fans. Heck, I've even dumped all mechanical drives for SSD's. Yeah, this is an extremely quiet system
Looking, "sounding" good I'm sure, sngnus21.

Essenbe, could you do me yet another favor? Could you run GRW and Time Spy with the XOC OSD and tell me if you can now actually move the OSD (ie right top) and change the font size? I'm sure you know you can change to right top by changing the value in the X axis.

The nephews, when they get the FTW 1080 will likely use AB but will give XOC a try IF the OSD can be moved. BTW, the nephews and I enjoyed your GRW video. They wonder why you haven't posted more. I said maybe because you have slow internet speed or Florida alligators might be biting into Fibre optics cables. Would be nice to see game video with XOC OSD on the right.

PS: it's been 4 days since I shipped the FTW 1080 to EVGA. They told me the shipping label was expedited shipping. After 4 days the GPU is in Hodgkins, IL. Does that look like expedited shipping to you?

Quiet is the best part of this system. Keeping fans to a minimum while cooling a system is a balancing act

Tell Zotac EVGA gave their consumers a choice: 1) send the GPU back and EVGA installed the pads for free or 2) EVGA would send their consumers a free thermal pad kit with installation instructions. Blackrose installed his thermal pads himself.

I got it close to where it should be in Time Spy. I don't have GRW installed right now though. I did change the font size a little larger.
