I remember reading the Corsair One can be expanded but has to be shipped off to do so or it voids the warranty. You can't even upgrade the RAM yourself.
    Thats no good

That's hilarious. I remember when I had my Alienware (not REAL Alienware - Dell Alienware). Less than two years old and I wanted to switch to Windows 10. Dell said "no, no can't do that. We don't support it and won't develop specific drivers/software (ie Command Center)". I want Windows 10. Dell's response " buy a new Dell that supports Windows 10".

There isn't a bigger motivation to build your own with this kind of 1980's thinking. PC sales declining? No wonder.

BTW that Alienware ran fine on Windows 10. Extremely difficult to upgrade though, very proprietary attitude with Dell, and as it seems Corsair.

That's why I try not even to work on such ready made, brand name machines, let alone to own them.

Yep. With that Dell because of the proprietary MIO board, only very specific brands of MB could be used to attempt an upgrade. And even with that, only about a 20% chance vents and lights will work properly with a MB change. Kept quiet at the time - the system was a well intentioned surprise gift.

Dell is the reason I built my first PC. I thank them for that. That's about the only thing I can think of to thank them for though.

I bought a 2014 Alienware 13 with Win 8.1 on it in 2015. Went to update to Win10 and Dell said they would not put drivers out for it. Win10 has built in drivers and Intel and NVidea rolled out driver support for my hardware. It was stupid.
