I'll probably uninstall Corsair Link as I have Aida64, and create my own sensor panels(that at least have the correct values) and can change the colors, add images and so on, depending on the system theme I'm currently using, and save those too.

I just wanted to see what it was about. I can't control anything with it, even though I have 4 corsair fans and Corsair RAM.

I think I said this earlier but I simply use Corsair Link to control the radiator cooler fans coming off the pump. Also to nag me should the pump die. Had my H100i pump die and only caught when troubleshooting some BSOD's. Checking the BIOS revealed my CPU was running extremely hot because there was no cooling. Wasn't using CL at the time.

Since replacing it with another Corsair, I decided to install CL and routinely check that things are running as they should.

And yeah, I have AIDA64, but having CL right there in the system tray is quick and easy.

Tommy; just curious - what issues are you having with the Gigabyte TI? If it's ocing ability, I'm no expert but Pascal (ie 1080) doesn't overclock well and from everything I read 1080TI even harder to OC especially with the AIBs with their OC set out of the box.

@specialkone, don't get me started. But, IMO, Pascal would overclock pretty well if Nvidia would stop their petty little games. They have built in stops to overclocking. For starters, who in their right mind would worry about overheating and start downclocking a graphics card at 48C? That's absurd. Why is Pascal voltage limited at stock? The FE's are pretty well built cards and the AIB ones are better. They can both take a lot more heat and voltage than Nvidia allows. Nvidia has hamstrung the cards. For what purpose, I have no clue. Maybe so that the next generation can be the same card without the limitations they put in.

Granted, the cards are awfully fast at stock without overclocking them. But, it seems to me that it is just another step Nvidia has taken to hurt the AIBs. After all, isn't overclocking why we pay more money for custom cooling solutions and custom PCBs? Nvidia has effectively made that only a slight advantage. The coolers are a lot better than the FEs, but that is the only advantage. Essentially the advantage is the AIB cards are quieter and will run around 13 MHz higher, maybe 26 MHz higher because of the cooling.

I complained about the dup fans on the Corsair forums so many times and I get nothing, other than one comment that said "better to have more fans than less".

I'm thinking with our fine Z170 boards now being basically EOL there is even less chance of Corsair trying to figure out the problem for us.

You know, my SoundBlaster XFI Titanium sound card has been EOL for many years. Once Creative decided or was pressured into getting a Win 10 driver out, the sound card works like a charm - zero issues.

Well our all knowing, who just can't remember it all at the same time, essenbe, I have read that opinion as well from reviewers and various forum members on various sites. And it wouldn't surprise me one bit and has had me thinking for some time that Volta might be no more than a slightly "opened up" Pascal.

So if that's the case, where are all the enthusiast Pascal bios mods, or has Nvidia been able to prevent that this time around as well?

Yes, it appears they have. It seems from some of the shunt mods that Nvidia has found some way of limiting that as well.

I figured as much. And Nvidia well knows how important OC ability is to the high end hardware enthusiast. Hope there's a price to be paid.

Ever notice the mod comments on the EVGA forums when customers are talking about ocing TI's? "Guys they are pretty much all the same" "Not going to get much more given the design". It's like they are making the "Nvidia needed apology" without actually writing it. Not good for enthusiasts, not good for AIBs either.

They have also said they have 2 SLI'd FTW 3's in the back Folding 24/7 at 2100MHz.
