I wanted to be quiet about it but i have the money for Ryzen but not sure if i am going to swap out a system or just go all new
I'll use the one I build for a daily driver. If there's a 6 core / 12 thread, might even just go that direction. Nothing fancy....just got the itch to do an AMD rig again.

I heard that i was going to do it on the low.....

It will be good to see some real competition again and if it is better than my skylake build well i'll just use my Sli 1080's and get more out of them

I'm not so convinced by the 'real competition' claims yet. I hope they are, but I've heard the claims from AMD too many times before, then watched them fall flat. Remember all the AMD claims about Bulldozer and Piledriver?

Yup. Fell for it myself. I figured, after having Phenom II, a new one had to be MUCH better, yes? No......they should have buried the FX line 3 years ago and forgot it ever happened.

At this point nothing Brand new will make a big difference vs what we bought 6 months to a year ago

Well The CES Video and Linus tech tips showed the inside of both systems and it was a 6900k vs a Ryzen cpu so i don't know if smoke and mirrors were used or not but in any case if it isn't up to what they said it is i will happily return it all for a refund

If it can beat a Intel CPU i would think it is in the $300.00 range most of AMD FX line didn't go over $200

I haven't gone AMD since the Athlon 64 X2 line back in the Pentium 4 days. They simply don't compete anymore.
