Nothing like moving into a new home. If it were me, I'd be prioritizing there. I mean you already have a PC to last a few years. And with a new home, you never know what unexpected expenses are going to pop up. Trust me, it happens.

Anyway its your money and I'm sure you've got a plan.

Yeah that is the thing i am keeping all this divided from my main money this will all be from paypal currency i accumulated over the weeks of selling

One thing though i got weak and bought 100 loot crates for overwatch and i got my special Anniversary skins

    Well put.

And I agree, a $600 dollar 8 core 16 thread CPU for that price will be most appealing to a lot of "Intel fans" including me. Having said that, being I just built my current system I'm going to stick with it for a while. But were in need of a new machine now, yeah, an Intel 8-core, 16-thread processor for $600 would definitely be in my price range. And I think this is the processor AMD needs to worry about.
I guess more will be coming out, but looking at it at this early stage as a gamer and "high end" performance/price criteria, this looks like a sweet spot.

I'm not "sold" yet as I'd be very interested to know what impact all these cores have or will have on gaming. I would think Microsoft (Windows 10) and game devs are looking hard at these great new CPU options (thanks to AMD becoming competitive).

Right now, what do most games use, two cores? Every game review is about GPU benchmarks, never about CPU benchmarks. I wonder if all these multiple core options are going to make an impact on the game industry.

Honestly 6 cores is the sweet spot for gaming

If you look at Gaming benchmarks 6850k does a good job of matching the 6700k single core speed when overclocked

The higher tier models are good but in gaming the single core lacks a little so the sweet spots are 6-8 cores for Gaming performance

If you want to whip ass on Benchmarks like firestrike etc you go for more cores it really comes down to what you want to spend and what you need it for most people don't need more than a I5 honestly but you know you don't want to settle and be like the rest you want the best

Getting the best isn't always the better option i can tell you this for someone who wants maxium performance from his GPU's i would have to get a higher cpu to support 44lanes even though people keep saying sli is dead this may be the game changer right here

For now,. Regardless, what's wrong with wanting more processor power?

And if we went by practical vs. wants.... then I'd say 90 percent of use don't need the current machines we have now

Nothing at all is wrong with it, Drew. It's the American way. We always want bigger, better, faster. Doesn't matter if it's cars or computers. But you are right. My 3770K will do most anything I need to do. I built my Sister a computer with my 'old' 2600K and she still says it is the fastest computer she has ever used. And it's running dead stock.

Another thing, somewhat off-topic: this was the best video I have seen from this channel in a long long time. Probably, ever. I want this kind of videos, with sincere and strong opinions, right to the camera, without unnecessary jokes and effects.
Also, I apologize for losing faith in his opinions before. This video showed me that I was wrong and that Linus is a genuine and sincere guy. This video required some huge balls, because of the magnitude of his channel and the repercussions of his opinions and reviews. +1 to Linus for being faithful to himself and the truth.

    I agree foreverPCgamer:)
I think it was, because this time, he was talking to us "Enthusiasts", and not the "Mainstream user".
