2017 Hardware Thread

I swear I am the only one who doesn't like fan lights and such. Just give me the basics. I run only 2 stock fans the stock intel fan. And my board and chip are way cool.

I thought I was the only one who didn't much care for fan lights and such. This Lian Li case I bought several years ago came with fans that gave off a blue light but I replaced them with the Noctuas before even installing the previous build. The new build has a video card that does the light dance stuff but I don't see it with the case side on. The motherboard has one light on it as well that I did see flashing through the expansion slot covers so I disabled it. I'm boring I guess, as I like a classy professional looking system rather than the gamey look.

I wasn't saying there was anything wrong with the lights and such. I know it's an enthusiast forum, that is why I am here. I am funny in that I like to have very clean cabling, yet I don't have a case window, so nobody sees it.

It's all good, and I found out I am not the only enthusiast who doesn't go all out on the lighting and such. My son wants some more bling, so it will come at some point.

I don't put crazy colors in my rigs I only put ghost white because that's the cleanest you can see a rig without all that flashing rgb trust me I'm not into light shows either but soft light combination with my gpu led works great and isn't a eyesore if you look at my fans they're white

I don't care for all the lights and glitter myself, but I'm not here extolling the virtual of my conservative rig on people who like to create works of art. Not everyone wants bland and simple

My two cents.

I only stated what I like in a system and think it a work of art though others may think it boring and go meh; it's about aesthetics not virtues although one could wax philosophical on the subject. I don't think of this site as for enthusiasts so much as a help forum for those having problems with Windows 10 while also providing a handful of forums for enthusiasts subjects.

On cars, I like many of Chip Foose's designs, but still like as well the look of the Continental, although some may say meh.

I have liked some of the aesthetics of the interior photos in the Show Your Rig thread and the soft red glow of the graphics card in this system has given me the thought of getting a case side with a window as I believe Lian Li does produce one that would fit this rig. But the cable management is not all that great in this case and were I to go all out I'd need to replace the brown Noctua fans as well with their newer black ones for good color matching with everything else so I'll probably leave as is. I think enough dough has been spent for now.:)
