    Nice case Jack :)

Seen this - Thoughts on Phanteks’ Enthoo Luxe PC case.

BTW a Samsung EVO 2TB SSD drive would be on my "want" list. Would love to replace my 2TB HDD drive for an SSD drive. That would basically eliminate all HDD drives from my system.

I still prefer to store internet downloads, isos, music, pictures, and video files on standard hard drives. I don't need speed for that. My spinner moves 200MB/sec.

That's why I'm me, and you're you. Different tastes, wants, and needs.

    Peace

Fair enough. I wasn't challenging you, just stating my thoughts.

So i went with this setup after debating about Ryzen performance price yada yada

    I went with a

    Fatality X99 Chipset

    Intel 6850K

    32GB GSkill TridentZ 3466mhz

    Corsair H115i Cooler

    Intel M.2 512GB 600P Series

Seagate Barracuda Hybrid drive 2TB for Steam

WesternDigital 1TB from my Dads old system

    EVGA 1000watt G2 80+ Gold

Phanteks Etho Pro Same case as my 6700k build

I have two Optical drives i have no need to Buy those it would be pointless

Yes 1080's will be going into this build i plan on buying a 1070 for the 6700k later i still have a GTX 970 i can use

Let me know what you think of that Intel 600p SSD. I put the same one into my son's recent build. I liked it from the standpoint that it doesn't require any cabling, (no power, no data cables). Performance is good, although not blisteringly fast like the more expensive NvME PCIe SSD's. And Intel did increase the endurance rating on these larger capacity drives last fall from the original 72TB to 288TB. I never expect to get anywhere near the 288TB limit on my drive, but with the read-only locking Intel does, it might make some a bit leary.

Will do this is my first X system so i am pretty excited i have next day delivery $10.00 three day was $7.85 i mean you do the math lol not holding my breath but it could show up tomorrow

I also thought about Ryzen but seriously not worth it don't want to even jump into trying to overclock with AMD anymore

I choose the Intel M.2 because they have Legendary SSD's

Yes, I have a 7 year old X25-M G2 and it's working just fine. Never had an issue.

I'm not much of an overclocker myself. My desktop (not my son's), is an Intel Q9550 which stock runs at 2.83Ghz, and I'm running it at 3.4Ghz. With the stock Intel cooler and the fact that it's in my basement, and the voltage was dropped a tid bit, it's been stable as a rock and cool as a cucumber since 2009.

I do IT stuff for a living, so I'm not so much into spending all of my time at home tinkering. So, I usually build something that runs well, but is quiet, doesn't require a bunch of extra cooling and call it a day. Heck, 95% of my time, I'm just on my MacBook Pro. My desktop doesn't get used as much. I do most of my gaming on my Xbox One.

I'm getting a new job in a couple of weeks and may ultimately build myself a new desktop. I'm considering a Ryzen, but I haven't used AMD since the Athlon 64 X2 days. I'm waiting to see if the proof is in the pudding on the 8 core 16 thread AMD's. I've heard their hype over the years and haven't been wowed by them in well over a decade.

I still have AMD machines but i am using this one as my main and the 6700k might go into the living room

I plan on moving to a new place this year so i kind of want a game room for myself this is why i am building now so i can just set everything up once into the new place

What i have here will actually compete with AMD in every aspect this chip i got is pretty much a watered version of the 6900k

Ya I can`t see spending 1K+ on a chip unless you have money falling out of your pocket
