I use mine separately too. I'd hate to play a game and think of moving the cursor 75" from one side to the other. Plus, my neck would probably be pretty sore from turning my head so much. I was more thinking about how much space 3 27" monitors take up and how better/easier the space could be used.

Thank you Brian, how's your system going?
Running great, had about a 4 hour game fest last night, not 1 issue with the 960, no freeze ups at all

Guru3D is guessing it's an early engineering sample of "Normal Vega".

"As it turns out, AMD could be fabbing three models:
    BIG WC = 687F:C3
    BIG Air = 687F:C2
    'Normal' VEGA = 687F:C1
The result set from the run below this is the*687F:C1 one. The specs listed in the 3DMark scores show*a device ID that is similar to that of the earlier Vega 10 prototypes we have spotted. This unit has 8GB of video RAM running at 700MHz (HBM2) and the card’s GPU clock is a 'safe' 1200MHz. So from the looks of it, these might be results from that early engineering sample. I do expect that AMD would be able to reach a 1.5 GHz base clock on the final products. Below the new entry, I also added the Time Spy one."

Essenbe; have you seen the talk over at the EVGA forums about waterblocks? Some are saying a waterblock on the FTW 3 doesn't make a lot of sense as you would be undoing EVGA's extreme cooling and it may not make much of a difference performance wise on that card, compared to the FTW 3 cooling. They are saying waterblock makes sense on (Blackrose"s} FE 1080TI's.

I haven't seen performance numbers on a waterblocked 1080 TI FTW 3. Any comments from the guy who knows everything but just can't remember all the time, or maybe Doorules. Ya, where is Doorules?

The last I heard EK's blocks were coming out on the 17th. So, I guess we won't know until that happens. As far as the conversation about them, no I haven't seen it. However, I have seen EVGA say they are coming out with a Hybrid and, I think a Hydro version. If what you are saying is true, then coming out with those models would be counterproductive.

I deleted most of this post as I haven't read the conversation on those forum..

That makes sense. I guess the big question for me is with the AIB's boost clock on their high end, how close are these top end 1080 TI's to their max OC performance given Nvidia chip limitations. Those FTW 3's run mighty cool but even with that I didn't see a clock above 2075 or I think JayZ hit 2088 for a second on only one of the two cards he had.

I guess we will know when FTW 3 waterblock, hybrid, and hydro versions come out. Certainly hope someone who knows ocing gives an in depth performance review. I'm wondering if putting out a hydro version is simply marketing, meaning consumers want one so give it to them. I have no clue what difference/improvements this will make to the ocing results.

@specialkone, I have never owned a Pascal card, so I am talking about something I know next to nothing about. That being said, what I have read about them is that at certain temps they downclock one step and if the temps increase more downclock some more. That being the case, the cooler you can keep the card, the longer it will hold the max overclock. Now, in a game I doubt that would make much difference at all. But in a benchmark that would make your average frame rate higher and thus a higher score. Most reviewers have said that Nvidia has hamstrung Pascal and none of the better cards are going to be significantly better than the others. From the reviews I have seen that seems to hold true.

Back in the 780 days was where all the fun was. I had a 780 Classified with a modded bios and had more fun with that card than every other card I have owned combined. Those days are over. Nvidia seems to have fixed it to where if you had a modded bios and could remove the voltage limit, I'm not sure it would help. It's just no fun any more and hard to get excited about. I still have the 780 and have threatened to drag it out again and play.

I think @doorules would be the best one to answer that question.

Well, I got my second 1080 Ti today and promptly ran into a CPU bottleneck. *shakes fist at 6600K*

Guess I'll be grabbing a 7700K next week.
