Odd issue.
Sorry for the title it's just hard to pin point this issue and considering I've had it for the past 2-3 weeks it's getting frustrating to the point where I'm starting to give up hope that I'll ever find a solution.
Anyway to the actual problem, as you can see in the pictures there seems to be some kind of issue with how blacks are presented at the monitor, I don't know what triggered it but it all started when I wanted to go from 1440p to 4K and see how that would be. Back then I had a 970 card connected to a Acer Predator XB281HK and from the moment I had packed it up I saw what you see in the pictures, I then fiddled around with the display and the GPU for quite some time, looking at calibration, testing different ports all ending up showing this potato quality of clips from YT in 4K.
Now after Black Friday, I've got a new card and the old monitor, I returned the 4K monitor because I thought it was but now I'm still seeing these funky looking green boxes, I'm slowly but surely going mad about this thing and I've yet to find any solution, I've been through 10 to 20 sites of people reporting similar but not quite the same problem as I am having at this moment. I've tried different cables, new and old, I've reseated the GPU and moved it to another PCIE slot, no difference, I've used the DVI port on the new card to an old Samsung 1280x720 17 inch monitor but I still see the weird things, I watched the clip on the 4K TV my parents have and nothing.
Here are the porridge/potato quality pictures of what I'm currently seeing on my monitor.
