To complete this thread in the end I purchased the Aerocool Predator 1,000w Semi Modular (gold rating) so I could make my own power cables to the drives & gpu with braided outer sleeves, maybee I was ahead of time as Aerocool are classed as very good now.
The Gamemax 500w I have now is acutually an Aerocool brand under a different name & this psu blew up when pc was not on but the psu was powered 9from brand new !!!0, I opened it to find it was just the mains Bridge Rectifier had blow could of been faulty from the start so I dropped the same type of new one back in but with 600v diode specs in it & has worked ever since. (I decided it would be cheaper to fix it myself rather than send it back, just for a £2 BR replacement)
The Aerocool 1,000w is just sat in my kitchen in it's box doing nothing.
I have marked this as solved but not sure who to thank !
