Thanks mate. On Monday or Tuesday I will have a new MB, one way or another. Thanks everybody
Here is another one on Amazon. Asus brand.
Amazon.com: ASUS P8H61-M LE/CSM R2.0 LGA 1155 Intel H61 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard: Computers Accessories
When your looking for that MB, just google "Socket LGA1155 Motherboard" Should give you many options. :)
Thanks guys. Based on your recommendations I will pick one from a local online shop, for faster delivery, and who knows, maybe the warranty will be needed may God forbid.
A problem with such shops in my area is they seldom have in stock enough products to choose from, have to order what a customer wants. In my case I can normally get it quicker ordering it myself but have to rely upon the seller and the manufacturer for the warranty, not a local shop. But then I've been building computers in shops and independently since back in late-386 early-486 days.
The same applies here. When I said local I meant nation wide. 386 existed in my highschool time.
Look for a motherboard that does not use electrolytic capacitors which is the weakest link in electronic circuit design. Although not perfect, look for boards that exclusively use Polymer types. Unfortunately, computer power supplies still use electrolytic types primarily due cost. A good routine to establish is to open and inspect the PSU at least once per year.
I'm still running an abit IP35 Pro Xe board that has been trouble free over the last nine years. The build sleeps and wakes in 5 to 8 seconds so I see no need for anything faster. Yes it still has USB 2.0 but only gets occasional use reading my camera's memory card.
Electrolytic types prone to swelling & leaking
Polymer caps do not have vents on the top
