Windows 10: New build for my son for the holidays
New build for my son for the holidays
I'm pretty excited as my son (9) is getting interested in gaming and we are going to build a desktop gaming PC together. I've already purchased the parts, just gotta wait now to give it to him.
Doing the following for the build
--Antec 302 case
--Seasonic 750w fully modular power supply
--Gigabyte GA-Z170x-UD3 mobo
--Intel Core i5-6500 Skylake
--16GB of G.Skill DDR4 2400 RAM
--EVGA 6GB Nvidia GTX1060 video card
--Dell 24" U2415 1920x1200 monitor
--Intel 600P 512GB M2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 x 4 SSD
--Corsair K65 RBG LUX mechanical keyboard
--Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum optical mouse
Now also has
--23" Acer 1920x1080 IPS secondary monitor.

That's great. Sounds like it will be an excellent rig. The best part is a 9 year old being interested in computers and getting some hands on experience. Congratulations and good job.
Got everything built. Piece of cake setting up using Windows 10 Anniversary Update 1. It found drivers for absolutely everything on it's down. I did download and install the Nvidia driver directly from Nvidia.
We had a ghosting/image retention problem on the monitor. I called Dell and they are overnighting me a new monitor.
Great job! I bet I know of a very happy 9 year old this Christmas. Congrats, well done.
Special Thanks to Microsoft for Windows 10 , in which I think is a outstanding OS. :D Another Special thanks to all the people on this forum that take time to help others solve problems they are having.
I changed my location to US so I can use Cortana but now when I open calendar app I see only US Holidays and not for my country where I live. Is there any hidden option or way to customize calendar to show holidays for any country ?
I would like to take a moment and wish everyone here a happy holiday and prosperous new year.
