    New Gaming Rig Build

    Whats up guys!

So in continuation with my other thread, Im building a new PC. On wed, im having someone come and buy my current desktop for $1300. With that money, i will be building another PC which costs exactly the same with shipping to my address.

As far as my laptop, i was going to give it to my mother, but its WAY WAY over powered for her use. so i am going to try and sell it for 1000 and with that money, im going to be buddying up with my brother to buy my mother a decent laptop that suits her needs.

We got an "estimate" on how much it would be to ship my desktop, and it was close to $150. but then i would receive it and would want to replace the GPU at a minimum. so then i would have trouble selling the current GPU in it. and on top of that, its way to big and i cant lock it up when i leave. So this new one is a mini ITX build that i can just put back in the box that it came in and send it where ever without too much concern.

hopefully i will end up walking away with a few extra bucks in my pocket and some spare parts for the new rig.

So with that, here are the new parts!

    Windows 10 Home
    Intel i5 6600K
    Gigabyte G1 Gaming GA-Z170N 5
    Corsair Carbide Air 240
    G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4 16GB 3200MHz
    Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming
    Corsair H100i V2
EVGA Supernova 650W GS 80+ Gold
    Intel 330 SSD 120GB / Sandisk 120GB - OS
    1TB WD Blue- Storage
    500GB WD Black

    Intel Core i5-6600K 6M Skylake Quad-Core 3.5 GHz LGA 1151 91W BX80662I56600K Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 530 - Newegg.com
    GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170N-Gaming 5 s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard - Newegg.com
Corsair Carbide Series CC-9011070-WW Black Steel Plastic MicroATX Mid Tower Air 240 High Airflow MicroATX and Mini-ITX PC Case - Newegg.com
    G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB Intel Z170 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-16GVK - Newegg.com
EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0, 08G-P4-6276-KR, 8GB GDDR5, RGB LED, 10CM FAN, 10 Power Phases, Double BIOS, DX12 OSD Support -Newegg.com
Corsair Hydro Series H100i V2 Extreme Performance Water Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm-Newegg.com
EVGA SuperNOVA 650 GS 220-GS-0650-V1 80 GOLD 650W Fully Modular EVGA ECO Mode Includes FREE Power On Self Tester Power Supply-Newegg.com

The HDDs and SSDs are left overs from previous builds. so the only thing extra ill have to buy is a monitor which i can get anywhere here.
I think these components will last me a good 4 years. i should only have to upgrade the GPU a little further down the line.

    lol

im just stuck on the GPU....

Idk what to get. From what i read, EVGA runs the hottest but has amazing customer support, MSI is the middle card but ive had BAD experiences with MSI GPUs and MOBOs, and the Gigabyte which runs the coolest and fastest, but im unsure if i will be able to fit it correctly in the case.

im kinda torn between the EVGA SC and the MSI Gaming X.

    MSI GeForce GTX 1070 DirectX 12 GTX 1070 GAMING X 8G 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support ATX Video Card - Newegg.com
    GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1070 DirectX 12 GV-N1070G1 GAMING-8GD 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 ATX Video Card - Newegg.com
EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC GAMING ACX 3.0 Black Edition, 08G-P4-5173-KR, 8GB GDDR5, LED, DX12 OSD Support -Newegg.com

I like the FTW edition because of the double bios, ive played with bios before and if they every decide to come out, certain bios have better efficiency and higher FPS than others, but from the looks of these cards, most clock within 100mhz of each other. between 2050-2150MHz and overcloking does not yield much more than ~ 5fps.

Im thinking MSI Unless i should go with the G1. u guys think it would fit? thats the only real reason i havent gotten the G1

well, after much research, i found out that the EVGA 1070 FTW and MSI card would NOT fit in the case. too wide, power cables hit the window, however, the Gigabyte G1 does fit, which is good because its the coolest and fasted running stock card. The EVGA SC 1070 was the other option, but it heats up a lot more than all the other cards so the benchmarks say.

Also i found out that my M.2 SSD would not ship to APO/FPO address, so ill have to skip on that for now. it will be an upgrade later however.

The G1 will fit without issues. I found a lot of build threads for the case I'm using and everyone got it in there with no issues
