"Would you have an opinion versus the Gigabyte LGA1151 Intel Z170 2-Way SLI ATX DDR4 Motherboards GA-Z170X-Gaming 7?"
Sorry; can't help you out there but maybe others familiar with those boards can chime in. From this review it's a close call but seems the Gigabyte board won overall and mainly due to that audio (Creative) you mention.

I ordered an Asus Z170 Deluxe as an open-box sale item. Has WiFi support.
Can't go wrong with that, and welcome to "Tweaker's Paradise".
Wi-Fi should be avoided unless there is no other choice. Our forums are full of posts from people with audio problems (crackling, popping, dropouts, etc) and many have been caused by Wi-Fi. I see the same problem on recording forums I visit.
Disagree, other than I would use Ethernet if I could. For three months now I have had wifi and tested both sound card and on board sound. I have both enabled. Games, music, etc are all crystal clear with the Asus board. Check the reviews, both wifi and sound.

I recently upgraded my motherboard and CPU to a Gigabyte Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard and an Intel Xeon 1231 v3. I use a Nvidia GTX 660 GPU, and recently my FPS in-game has been stuttering. When I checked my GPU load, I noticed it kept on dipping...
I have a strange issue where after a full shut down in Windows 10, the motherboard is still delivering power to my connected devices such as my headset, keyboard, mouse and monitors i.e. all the lights on these devices are still on,...
I have a new Dell 8900 series desktop. (64 bit)
Apparently has Realtek integrated audio on the Motherboard.
The audio works fine, but the program that gives the user, me, options for adjusting
the audio is really poor.
We know that Windows 10 will work on hardware designed for Windows 8.1 and Windows 7, but is there any advantage to upgrading the motherboard of a fairly recent system that runs Windows 8.1 comfortably now? I see MB manufacturers are producing...
