Installed RAM amount error.
Why does my system information show 32 GB of RAM when I actually have 64 GB installed?
Thank you for the help.

Post a screenshot of your Resource Monitor.
This page at Amazon shows that the motherboard in your System Specs supports a maximum of 32GB.

Right you are Berton. This was my first build and I used PCPARTPICKER as a guide. This was not flagged {no blame, my oversight}. I installed four 16 GB sticks just to fill the slots knowing 32 GB would be enough, but thought why not just throw in the extra. The unit runs great and I would have not even noticed the issue had I not been just poking around and noticed it listed on the system specs.
I think I'll just leave them sitting in the motherboard as they don't seem to be hurting anything. If that's a problem, please let me know.
Thank you.
Mike
you'd get slightly better performance with 4 8gb dimms than 2 16gb dimms thanks to quad channel. I don't know if the system is skipping two entire dimms or is just using half of each. If it's the latter then you're still getting the performance boost.
Interesting FuturDreamz. I guess there is no way of knowing. In any case, I wanted to try my 1 shot at gaming (Fallout 4) and needed a new computer so that's why I tried building one. It seems to play the game very well (60fps) so I think I'll just save the cost of switching and leave it as is.
Thank you
