Whats the best way to overclock the CPU?

Hi, I would like to overclock my CPU but I dont know what to do. Is their anything like MSI Afterburner but for CPUs. You can see what CPU I have in my System Spec.

BCLK Overclocking is related to your motherboard. It basically clocks everything not just cpu. It would even overclock the wireless card.

Multiplier overclocking - Increasing vcore (Your pumping more volts into it)

These are basic examples and by no means scientific definitions for computer gurus.

Intel has a app available for download. Intell Xtreme Tuning. AMD has one also. Their are some other apps tweaks. I can assure you things are going to be as simple as click this and that and be done with it. You need to monitor the system. Probaly better off running a cpu stress test for like 2 hours straight or something.

FYI - Your cpu is the strongest part of your computer setup. SSD would be on my list first on your custom cpu. I would leave it alone unless you do your homework first.

doesn't the chip have to be a K version for o/c ? AFAIK the only way to o/c a non-K cpu is to raise bclock - might give about 4% if lucky. Hardly worth it.

This is a correct answer. With non "K" version of CPU, the multiplier is locked so you cannot change it. Changing the BCLOCK, also known as FSB is not worth it and might cause your PC to be unstable/BSOD.
