Out of curiosity why do you want to increase the performance of the PC/CPU?? Is is slowing down?? Or do you need the extra performance to do more CPU intensive tasks??

First you need better cpu cooling , second you need to make sure you can get into your bios and that your bios advanced functions are unlocked (manufacturers like HP tend to have a custom locked bios , bios by the way is where you would do your overclocking :) ) As i cant tell what motherboard you have i cant look up the bios and see if its even possible , there are a few tutorials on youtube for overclocking semperon cpus (K140)

If you can give me the exact make and model of your motherboard we can llook into it further but tbh i doubt it'll be worth the time and effort mate , but if it can be done we can tell you how , along with a disclaimer that any damage caused is down to you

    Peter,
To find the exact type of motherboard you have, open Speccy >

Help overclocking Please I have a thread started but can't link it-spec.jpg

Then on the Left side > the 5th one down says Motherboard > Left click on it and it will show what model it is.

Be sure to show it like the one I posted above. It will show the BIOS version and date.
This will help to determine if you can overclock or not.

If you don't know how to use the snipping tool let us know and we will show you how to do it.

I'm a novice at computer's however I am learning it seems the hard way and want to learn. I am having a problem with SPEED<< with my VPN in some/most case my raw broadband is faster, they told me my CPU should be above 2GHZ it's 1.72 cleaned out my RAM from a 2.6 to a 4.1 so i want this thing to go faster but thats not going to happen I need a new computer--That said; My VPN seems to be a bad one Should Broad band be faster than a DNS or even a sock5 even with a 1.72GHZ CPU? My VPN is Private Internet Access could someone ( Please suggest a VPN that works )

I Want to Thank Everybody That Helped Me....

I'm giving up on this sys.and h/p I'm may take on the challenge of building one/with help but could someone suggest a good VPN company This is my 4th try so this seems to be just another lesson as well

You can start with the basic clean up things.

When was the last time you ran Disk Clean up ?

Do you have Malwarebytes installed and use it ?
