Is a Monitor with 7ms Good for Gaming?

I got 2 questions about a monitor with 7ms I'm dying of buying:

    1) Is a monitor with 7ms response time good for gaming? Will there be noticeable lag?

    2) Would a monitor with 4ms be as unnoticeable in lag as one with 7ms?

no. for gaming you want ideally below 2ms. my current monitor on my laptop is 5ms and its a huge difference between my desktop that is 2ms as far as ghosting is considered.

No my first ips monitor was 7ms and i can see no differance between that one and the one i have now , if you getting ghosting on your laptop with a 5ms response time the problem is not coming from your response time. ghosting doesnt become a problem until your going over 12 ms , going by your logic theAsus PG279Q isntr any good for gaming because it has a G to G response time of 4ms , its simply not the case 7ms is fine for gaming

There are other tecnologies in monitors apart from response time that can make them good or bad for gaming of course :) a high end ips at 7ms will beat a low end 1ms monitor any day you wont notice the differance as long as your rig can push the fps , higher refresh rates are one thing you will notice but a golden rule is always limit your fps to your monitors max refresh rate (vsync is on way of doing it but it introduces a bit of mouse lag best way is ingame or through an app like msi afterburner) any frames your gpu produces over the refresh rate of your monitor are lost because your monitor cant draw them fast enough sometimes this gives you horrible tearing when frames overlap . what monitor was it you were looking at buying?
