How do I config XMP RAM on P8Z68-V GEN3?

Right now I have a P8Z68-V GEN3 computer here and I'm trying to input xmp RAM but it's only reading the first part of the RAM. Eg. I put a single 4gb×3 ram in there and it only reads the first 4gb I enabled the setting for it but I'm not sure there's more to it. The settings automatically put the timing but idk.

Am I correct in reading that you have 12 Gb installed, but it is only showing 4 GB? If so, the ram is not installed correctly or there is a problem with the motherboard Dimm slots.

Please download and install CPUz (http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html) Post screenshots of the CPU, Mainboard, Memory and SPD Tabs. On the SPD tab you can select each Dimm Slot from a dropdown in the upper left of the window. Just post the Dimm Slots that have ram installed. This will tell you how. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1...en-forums.html

No this is a special ran chip it's 12gb in one card.
It says it's three 4gb rams in one chip. I have 4 of them. And on a regular computer it will only use the first 4gb but this computer has the capability to use the special RAM (XMP RAM) but I don't know how to activate it

XMP can be enabled in the BIOS. Not sure what BIOS version that board has, but it should be similar to what you see in the pic below.

You should also see if that special RAM chip is compatible with that motherboard. XMP alone may not be enough to make it work.

Fixed the pic. You should be able to enable XMP in AI Overclock Tuner.

I can't recall the P6Z68 board, even though I used to own it, but it probably works the same as the Z77 boards. In the Tweaker section of bios, there should be a reading for AI Overclock tuner, set it to XMP.

I would be concerned with compatibility. I don't believe there were 12 GB sticks made when the Z68 came out. Unless they have had a BIOS update to make it compatible, it may not work. The CPUz Screenshots may help.

I'm not near the PC atm but I also tried smaller rams like 4gbx2 and 2gbx3 and they all still load the first part only
