CPU D = CPU Diode, and CPU P = CPU Package

Temps on this new 10700k build; not different from the Skylake 6700k actually.

Thanks Dude. I thought this 10th Gen would run a little warmer and wonder if I should have ignored the bad press the 11th Gen 11700k received for running hot and gone with that to get the PCIE 4.0 for the 980 Pro to run at full speed. Anyway, I think for normal use (not writing large files constantly) I really won't notice it much as this system is fast once I get past the slow boot problem I'm still having.

I have always gone with CPUs that run hot lol. As far as the gen4, its nice in a benchmark but gaming and everything else is the same. 10700k is a great processor

Well the 10700k do run a lot warmer under heavy load overclocked. I had one delidded with an nh-d15 cooler because of that. You are right about the PCIE-4 and NVME SSD. It really will not be noticeable except in benchmarks. Good luck on the boot issues.

Geneo, I can imagine the temps reached under high stress conditions. I am not one for overclocking much but ran XMP 1 for a bit and saw the temps go up under light stress.
