got to run it once i got that freaking opencl.dll error behind me
Memory was at 3400, 14-14-14 34 1t, 1.4 V... gpus were +230 core and + 700 on the mem, and my everyday 4.5 o/c at 1.385 Vc
Had the mem at 3467 but better results at 3400. Not sure if going over 1.4 is bad or not.
1.4 for daily is fine as long as you have active air flow. I use 1.45v for benching, occasionally, but...most of the time I don't mess with it and just run it at 1.4v.
Wish my CPU would bump that high with that kind of voltage. I have 3 cores that screw me over pretty hard, and 2 cores that are god like. The rest are....eh, average.
I do have a 4" fan blowing on the ram, vrms and chip area. Had it there since day 1 with this setup.
What kind of speed are you running ram when at 1.45 V?
I just got this kit today, 32 gigs of cl14 trident z. Just starting to play with some subtimings. Lots of short term grief I am sure. Ram not really my thing.
The memory on the 1080 is squirrely and buggy. When +850 gives great performance, +875 gives crap performance, and +825 gives crap performance....something's wrong. Things just don't scale like that.
Mine can do it too....+850 on the memory....
But I know there's something off with it. I won't take a score that's been made like that.
Core clocks on Pascal have plenty of potential for performance boosts....ya just can't He-Man it like we used to. It's a balance between really low temps, low voltages and watching how well they perform at specific clocks, with what voltages it takes to run them there, at what temps. Because all that changes with each 1c you drop or raise in the core.
