so.......i bought that so called premium dell CPU cooler from an ebay reseller.......it arrived horrifically tweaked beyond all use, half the radiator plates bent inward, and the copper tubing just a hot bent mess. even if it would still work, im not putting it in my system, so i complained to said reseller, they're sending me a replacement, and this one BETTER end up......well, better than the last, otherwise i want a refund

Ebay will always honor the buyer so if the seller rips you off you complain to Ebay nicely and they will remedy the situation for you. Now that you mention it, can we see the cooler? just curious to its condition lol.

i got the replacement CPU Cooler after the first one they sent was [REDACTED] up during transit, and after making sure everything was in place, i booted my pc up and booted up speccy. where the CPU would start up at 100F and as high in the 120F range and keep idling between 112 and 125, it is now idling at a somewhat low 97F (min), and 102 (max)

which, considering the performance loss of the stock CPU cooler it came with, is an honest to god improvement. And as much as i could possibly get even better cooling with a closed loop cooler or one of the semi-bulkier block coolers, i'm calling this CPU cooler replacement the very last thing ill upgrade. now barring anything going kaput and needing a same version replacement, im done upgrading this xps 8700 of mine. after this P.O.S dies, new computer all the way, and not a Dell, im done with their proprietary hardware, good performance or not

It's fantastic improvement. 120F = 48C (which is what the entire rest of the world uses for computer temps).

    Good job.

My CPU hits 74C under 100% load. Which is great for a Hyper 212 EVO push/pull

It's not "tricked" out. It's just a really big case.
Cooler Master ATCS 840. I think I bought it in 2008-2010?

    Makes working on comps... easy.
Unhook the cables, and you can pull the whole motherboard tray out the back. With everything still attached.

Makes it real easy to upgrade a comp.
